A function that syncs up a selected clip to an alternative clip auto-alligning the wave-form similar to FCPX or PluralEyes. It doesn´t need any TC info.
Would speed up dialog-editing. Demo video here:

Isn't that what Vocalign does? I'd personally rather see it left as a third-party add-on feature. Why add weight and complexity to the code of a general purpose DAW with something that only post users need?
#1: Vocalign does something completely different. It time-stretches/squeezes a given clip to a different one.
#2: What is a "general purpose DAW"?! I´d say it´s a DAW that is made to meet professional user´s needs.
#3: Maybe you haven´t noticed it but PT is probably used on 99.9% of all Hollywood movies for sound design and dialog-editing.
Is an guitar amp simmulator needed in a "general purpose DAW"?! Why add weight and complexity to the code of a general purpose DAW with something that only music users need?
One more thing. People in post spend hours and days of their life trying to find and sync alternative tracks from tenthousand of clips that have wrong or missing TC.
If an NLE can do it why not the most used DAW in audio post?
Well, if it could be done without weight and clutter, I wouldn't be against it. But I doubt that it could unless it were a plug-in, and thus completely removable (like Eleven LE and Boom and such).
Nearly all post is done in PT but only a small percentage of PT use is post. If I get what you're suggesting, it might speed up my workflow a little sometimes. But I'd hate for Joe DanceTrance to have to pay for more fancy code that he doesn't want or need. PT is too bloated already.
"Weight and clutter"? What does that mean? This is a program for a computer and it should serve the user´s needs.
Compared to the features of FCP or AVID PT has about the "weight" of a feather. If AVID doesn´t do it the competitors are going to.
Anyway this argument has left my suggestion already. You think PT shouldn´t have features for post? Fine. Maybe make a generakl suggestion like "Don´t add features for post." But this has nothing to do with this suggestion.
Well, I feel for you, but I'm thinking also of the welfare of people I work with who use PT exclusively for composing and mixing music. By "weight" I'm thinking of the size of the program, not only for download but for how long it takes to launch, how much memory it requires, and how stable it is. By "clutter" I mean like how many menu items there are to comb through when you're looking for the item you want, and/or how busy the interface is. If it was like Reaper, where each user could totally customize the interface to suit his workflow, that would be one thing. But PT has gotten so complex that it's daunting for new users, even those who have used other DAWs for years. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying your suggestion is a bad one.
I'm not going to waste time with an argument about something that has nothing to do with the idea posted. PT is about the least complex DAW out there. Have you checked out the menues of pyramix or right-clicked on a region in reaper? that's what I call clutted. Please take the discussion elsewhere. Ideascale is about posting ideas.
