Since there is a lot of bleed when tracking drums and most drums have pretty different frequency content it would be great to have the ability to non destructively E.Q. before running strip silence. For instance, on snare drums with a lot of quiet grace notes it would be great to exclude all of the lower frequency content that would include the kick but not the snare. High hats are also a nuisance in this regard and could possible help with this feature as well. The different drums also have different transient content so maybe that cold be used to fine tune strip silence even more. I often clip gain my snare tracks because it is the only way to make sure all of the snare hits remain intact. This is painfully time consuming and I was hoping this process might make the job just a little bit easier. I'm sure this is easier said than done, but in the end I think many people would love a quicker solution for gating complex drum tracks.
