Here's an idea for Avid...
Quite a few people have expressed an interest in printed manuals for Pro Tools. While one is now available for PT 9, there is not one currently available for PT 10.
A couple of my novels will soon be available in a "print on demand" softcover format.
You visit a website, choose a book, give them your credit card info, and a few days later the book is delivered to you. My publisher is still working out the details, but I think a "standard length" novel will sell for about $10.00.
Very little formatting is required other than the normal .pdf formatting, so there would be minimal production costs for Avid, and since there is no "stock", they wouldn't get stuck with a bunch of unsold copies.
And Avid could make each new version of the book available on the software's release data.
