A trim knob that works like the plugin placed before the channel plugin path would be nice. This would help in facilitating proper gain staging of tracks that are recorded too hot or too soft without using up a plugin slot.
There's a lot of very understandable concern about 'noise blasts', whereby PT can unexpectedly output absolutely huge audio levels, causing danger to people's hearing, speakers and nerves. Such issues persist even in the very latest versions of Pro Tools. Please add both a LUFS and a True Peark meter to the metering section. There is no true marker of where your mixes are sitting without adding a metering plugin.
Add a control room pannel with a fader or knob to control the listening output volume and surround tools like mute and solo for each channel.
Let's paint the scenario : You've already and succesfully blended 2 tracks together (e.g. Bass DI at 0dB + Bass MIC at -4dB) everything seems to be perfect so you go further in your mix... For volume automation, the scrollwheel of the mouse can be used to write/change the value, if the output window of a track is opened and the volume value is highlighted. Right now, the increments are very small, like 0.1 dB per detent. There could be a preference of how many dB one detent of the scrollwheel changes (like 0.1 or 0.5 or 1.0 or 2.0 or ...). Is it possible to implement the feature, when you press volume up - volume goes up on the master track. When you press volume down - volume goes down on the master track,
If the mute button is pressed - it activates mute on the master track.
