I know we can group tracks and use show and hide in the memory locations window however it would be great to be able to keep selected or grouped tracks locked to a specific user defined hight. Often in post production mixing and editing we want to have a group to be able to be seen but not have them change hights when we are continually adjusting other track hights either in parent groups or the option-all track adjustment ...more »
It would be great to have the shift-click feature to select solo on a track go one step further, as an option.
To greatly assist the speed of auditioning files in tracks make the solo feature available on any track when the user click the selector-play cursor in any track they want to hear.
Cubse and Studio One have recently implemented this feature and I think Pro Tools should to!
As it says in the title really. I often order my region list by date created in reverse order, so the most recent take is always at the top of the region list. It's handy for keeping take notes, and quickly dragging takes back on to the timeline. What would be REALLY handy is if I could 'pin' my cue bips region to the top of the bin, so it's always to hand - it would bypass the usual ordering of clips. There could be ...more »
We should not be limited to ten of each in 2017 and they should be freely draggable. I already have a feature request to allow a plug-in to be dragged in-between two contiguous plug-ins, not replace one!
I actually, really like how Harrison Mixbus has implemented inserts/sends where Insets and sends can be in any order but simply more than eight would be extremely beneficial to workflow
Pro Tools seriously lags behind its competitors here. Here is a non-exhaustive list of improvements, if you have any more please add to comments. If I solo the 'Drum Aux' all tracks associated with that Aux should play, it is silly I have to solo all the tracks manually. If I have a delay and reverb send on my Vocal channel, when I solo the Vocal channel, I should also hear the delay and reverb. Yes, I can 'solo safe' ...more »
The ability to show only audio tracks or show only VCAs or Aux etc, it would be nice if you could select a combination like Aux and VCA for example, and the option to always keep the master fader presnets.
This would be good for setting up Window Configurations that you could quickly switch between on busy mixes.
I find myself often importing new files to RX in order to set them to a normal loudness prior to importing them to Pro Tools. It would be handy if there were an option for files dragged from the Clips Bin (maybe via modifier keys) to analyze the loudness using a standard like LUFS and automatically adjust the overall Clip Gain to a user-specified standard long-term loudness level. That way, waveform heights will already ...more »
When doing multiple bounce-to-disk operations from the same session, for instance when creating stems, I want to be in charge of changing the filename myself. Since I'm already going in and changing part of the filename (eg "_drums" to "_BVs"), I have no need for the automatic "_1" that Pro Tools wants to add every time. I'm currently about to start producing up to 7 stems per session from around 400 sessions, which will ...more »
It would be great to add a 5.1 mix environment / bus to Pro Tools (non HD).
It is available in other DAWs I know - Logic Pro and Adobe Audition, so why not this version of Pro Tools?
I expect it is available as standard in DAWs other than those I have mentioned above.
I would like to suggest a Playback engine dialogue on startup. I know I can see the playback engine dialogue if I hold down the N key during startup, and it can also be changed once a project has opened (forcing a software reboot). But I think it would make sense and be much easier (I work in a university environment, so there are many users of protools on several machines at once). There are several playback engines ...more »
Example : a mix group containing 1 mono and 2 stereo audio tracks, all 3 with an Eq37 on insert "a", mix attributes set to insert control/bypass. All 3 Eq's have the same low cut enable, the same low cut freq, the same ... , but when moving the , e.g., low cut freq in the mono track Eq, only that one moves, not the low cut freq of the Eq's of the stereo tracks. And vice versa : moving a parameter in the stereo Eq does ...more »
