Some of the most popular feature requests on here were originally posted in 2009. Things like track folders, which are available in virtually every other DAW, but even more needed in Pro Tools, where film mixers have several hundred tracks to grapple with. That's a lot of scrolling. Instead of focusing on things like Atmos integration, which affects a tiny fraction of your users, please implement the features your larger ...more »
when you increase track size in the edit window, the focused tracks scroll off screen. It would be preferrable for the tracks to stay centered during zooming.
See attached videos.
It would be great to have an option to temporarily group tracks together to pan them without having to create a permanent group. This could be a combination of modifier keys with selected tracks or just a on option to turn on or off a Panning group of selected tracks.
Hey, as a long time User of ProTools I would like to suggest two new features in future versions: 1. A search dialogue or search box within the Audiosuite or Plugin window to search for my favorite plugins....as I have so many I don't need to scroll through all the folders and mouse wheel scrolling within the long lists never worked properly. Makes working a lot faster and more efficient. 2. a makro based (or other ...more »
ProTools 12 will not read the old SD2 files. Avid originally created the SD2 standard, and now it appears it is abandoning support for it. We have thousands of old ProTools sessions that we can no longer access without an old machine running an older version of ProTools. I see that other people have the same problem and Avid would be wise to listen. I request that Avid add SD2 support once again in new ProTools versions, ...more »
This would make marking places on "takes" in playlist clip possible without cluttering the main marker lane with markers that may not apply to the current playlist(s)... along with short-cut keys that can automatically name clip markers with different names on different keys on the fly when recording.
i do a lot of prep for game shows and dialogue cleaning .so theres lots shifting of audio from one track to another.
i would like to be able to select a clip,or a whole lot of cops, right click and have the option of selecting which track to send the audio to..,instead of control dragging
will save heaps of time, and will stop me from sometimes dropping on the wrong tracks and wiping audio...
I request that VCA tracks display a waveform of summed tracks for which VCA is controlling. Would allow source tracks to be hidden.
It would be efficient to have a way to choose mirrored playlist editing in the same fashion as mirrored Midi editing. Especially when performing cut time or add time commands. A simple checkbox would suffice. When moving sections of a song around this is a workflow killer. For example. If you decide to copy and past a chorus to double it or remove an instrumental section, you need to be able to have the playlists follow. ...more »
The various algorithms that come built in to elastic audio are decent but not great. Even xform does not sound as good as other offerings from 3rd part developers when it comes to time shifting. PT already allows 3rd party plug ins for the TCE trimmer and just now with the release of 12.81 it even allows Z-plane Elastique. It would be life changing to offer those 3rd party plus as a choice within the elastic audio ...more »
I request the surgical coalescing of volume automation (VCA or Volume Trim) in a time selection. This would be very effective in mixes where one is using a mixing lane for a specific leveling function and then accidentally or "by seat of the pants" - incorporates a dramatic mix move that would ideally be placed on a different fader - coalescing the selection would move only the selection while preserving the automation ...more »
