2nd Generation HD Accel Cards (FPGA/DSP Hybrid)

Even with Computer CPUs becoming more powerful by the day, I think that specialty cards like the HD Accel Cards still have an advantage when connected to Pro Tools. Latency will be lower, the computer will not have to work as hard, and you will have more power overall. By adding a accelerated card will "supercharge" your machine, reducing processes needed for the CPU, letting the cards do all mixing chores. The features ...more »

Crossgrade PT8LE to ProTools HD

I use ProToolsLE 8 with a DIGI003 rack and the complete production toolkit. Video-editing is done with Avid Media Composer 5.0.3 based on a Nitris DX. I would like to use Video Satelite to combine the video-editing and post audioproduction. This is only possible with PT HD.

It would be great to get a crossgrade-possibility from PT LE to PT HD-native with the OMNI i/o interface.

This will increase purchases of your lower-end interfaces such as the MBox Micro which are meant to be a method of taking PTLE portable on the same machine ...more »

Pace iLOK redesign.

I know this is really for PACE, but I figured since Pro Tools uses this I would still suggest it. I believe the iLOK needs an updated look. Redesigning the iLok won't prove any performance gain or software features, but making the appearance of the iLOK updated with new gear. This will not be replaced with the original iLOK, but sold alongside with it as an option. Besides the appearance of the unit, a good feature ...more »

RAM audio caching

With the advent of 64-bit OSs, and assuming there would be a 64-bit build available, PT could potentially be able to create a RAM map of the computer, and hold in RAM audio files. This would help when the discs are being overloaded due to high amounts of edited audio being streamed. If some of the clips used were held in RAM, PT would be able to play higher amounts of tracks without stressing the drives as much. There ...more »
