Allow the nudge value in all the Edit windows and the grid value of the event operations quantize window to follow the main grid value.
Currently Pro Tools regulates processing by analyzing the presence of a clip on the track. It would be great to have it determine whether or not actual audio is present inside the clip and deactivate processing if total silence is detected. So for example, percussion tracks that are received entirely consolidated for mixing but have been "strip silenced" no longer drain ressources during silences.
Add a small button to open a small comment bubble, so you can make notes about why a plugin was added. Make the button turn a different color to indicate a comment has been added.
I waste so much time messing around with automation breakpoints trying to fine adjust to get them in the right place. I recently started learning Cubase, and found it incredibly useful to be able to manually set the time and value of automation points. Pro tools already has this functionality in the main counter when it comes to other selections such as clips or midi notes. So if you could just select automation breakpoints, ...more »
Highlight the tracks the selected clips are on while dragging them to other tracks.
This would help to see if you are dragging the clips to the desired tracks.
When I get a faulty OMF (containing much more timeline and clips than the actual video) I usually import, cleanup and import that in a new session again. Because:
When selecting and removing unused data, you have to click "yes" or " no" for every single file. So when it's 10294 files you have to say "yes" or "no" for all 10294 files, no way to get out of it.
Please allow for unlimited instrument and MIDI tracks in all versions of Pro Tools. For composers running enormous Vienna Ensemble Pro templates this is essential. Avid would be crazy to not allow for this — I'm sure many others like me would prefer to not have to jump ship for Cubase or other DAWs that don't impose arbitrary track limits.
I'm sure I'm not the first to want this feature, but being able to add an eq before sending to a reverb ( without creating a whole extra aux and return channel) would add a lot of functionality and clear a ton of unnecessary clutter. Wow, no takers? Maybe I need to clarify? This feature is a no-brainer to me. OK, simple ( I hope) explanation. Having plugins on the send of a channel makes these plugins post channel plugins. ...more »
When you clic an insert slot, beside showing "no insert", "default EQ", "default Dyn" and categories, it would improve the workflow so much if there's also a plugin search bar, like: No insert ------------------ Search bar ------------------ default eq default dyn ------------------ multi-channel multi-mono ------------------ i/o Search bar would real time predict possible plugins while writing, something like: Search: ...more »
I would love the ability to separate my clips while recording. This would be great for anyone who does concert recording. It would allow you to quickly bounce out after a concert before you do the fine edit. It would also be helpful when recording multi-track from a Venue console. This would be a big improvement.
