Would love a quick(er) way to remove errant pan info from a clip, similar to the clip gain reset hotkey combo.
• Background: This is relevant to broadcast, dialogue and classical music editors. • Scenario: We're often working with multiple long takes, which due to their nature, will often be performed differently. • Example: One phrase lasting a few seconds in a ten minute performance is stronger in another take. Objective is to edit this better phrase into the full ten minute performance. • In this scenario, the position of ...more »
CB USB-422 not (really) working with macOS Sierra
The 9-pin serial ports on DNxIO are untested with Pro Tools.
With all the post-production projects ProTools is used for, I can't understand why, in 2017, there's no built-in auto-conform feature. Seems like an obvious, fairly simple feature the program should have had years ago. Why must we go to a third-party application, or spend hours typing to simply transfer time code numbers from an EDL or OMF? Isn't that the sort of thing computers are supposed to be good at?
When unauthorized plugin screen comes up allow to select some plugins and not be forced to leave them all or move them all.
"Split into Mono is great, but the opposite would be excellent too. I do it all the time and a quick select and combine feature would be a real time saver.
I thought we straightened this out. I should not have to turn on automation to send midi volume controller data to a midi instrument. Or any controller data.Modulation and sustain, among others, are not affected by automation. Nor should the rest of the data (unless options could be set). Please remove any midi controller data that currently exists in Pro Tools Automation tree
A plugin insert section on an audio track that commits any processing while recording. Currently, the only way to commit processing while tracking in protools in to have the audio come in on an auxiliary track, apply eq, compression, etc, and then bus it to an audio track to be recorded. This takes up space in the box and is a hassle that can sometimes cause confusion in the middle of a hectic recording session. This ...more »
ReVibe II - one of my favourite reverbs for post - is a performance hog. Each instance is always "surround under the hood". Having a multi-mono instance on a 5.0 aux (to follow the input panning) results in 5x the load of a normal 5.0 instance. Even a mono instance calculates all surround legs (see parameters), only to output a mono downmix. Please update for proper scaling, maybe giving a true mono-only instance. Also, ...more »
Hello.. Since i'm using Pro Tools 12 can't open my old sessions created with sd2 files.. Really this was a very bad decision. I need to work with some old projects and I doesn't have PT 10 or 11 anymore.. I don't understand why Avid has removed this essential function in PT 12 knowing that the whole Pro Tools community has a lot sessions with sd2 files.. I hope Avid will review this issue.. Tks !
The "Audio Suite" drop down menu should have a preferences section to select unwanted plugins & permanently remove them. This feature could also be placed directly on the plugin itself when opened; with a simple click of yes to "Are you sure you want to permanently remove "X Plugin." And it will never be seen again on the list of plugins. Currently a user has to navigate through their system, scan all their program ...more »
I was wondering if this is possible in PT, or whether it's something not developed yet.. When I record a number of songs for a band, and every song has the same track instrument qualities/plugins/pans/plugin settings/sends, and you don't own a console, then you have to create a session for each song and build identical mixers for each session. You could create a template, but a template won't provide everything a console ...more »
