-Implement the ability to lock - individual or group track heights. -In this way you could keep a set of tracks visible, but in MINI size for example and adjust other track groups or individual tracks as desired. -This would be most useful in postproduction editing and mixing work with medium or large sessions when the show / track hide in memory location window is undesired. -In post production editing the editor is ...more »
Adding negative delay compensation to any track causes audio recording to be out of sync.
Fast Track Solo
1. Add negative manual delay compensation to an audio track
2. Record click through microphone on a different audio track
3. Watch waveform of click be wayyy off beat
Rewind + Stop on D-Command transport takes you to session start. Pro Tools 11
I'm running ProTools 11.2.1 on Mac OS X 10.9.4
2.7 GHz 12 core intel Xeon
I get no waveforms at all. And the task manager just spins while "calculating waveform overview".
screen shot attached.
Anyone have any ideas ?
The noise which produces is very disruptive. OMNI is not so cheap that it can not use high-quality silent fan.
In Pro Tools 11 with a 48 kHz session, when bouncing to WAV and mp3 at the same time, the resulting mp3 is at 44.1 kHz and reports its length incorrectly (a few seconds short). Obviously, the mp3 sample rate cannot be the same as the session rate for rates above 48 kHz. But it should be for 44.1 and 48 kHz sessions. A drop-down menu should be provided to choose the target rate at least for high rate sessions, and preferable ...more »
I tend to have a master fader for most if not all of my busses. It would be handy if, when creating a track from the send assignments drop down, you could check a box to also automatically create a named and assigned master fader. So, I want to create eg a drum subgroup, I select my drum tracks, shift-alt, click on an output and choose new. I choose a stereo aux and name it 'Drums' in the window...PT creates the named ...more »
I want the ability to view the bitrate of an mp3 or compressed file type when I see a file in the Workspace Window or "Import Audio" just like I can see the sample rate, channels, and bit depth. This is crucial information and should be displayed just like all other digital audio descriptors.
When importing tracks into a session that has it's main counter set to feet+frames the counter will switch to TC.
When you goto bounce, online or offline, and navigate to any folder to bounce, choose or change bounce destination... You cannot see the existing files you've previously bounced, the folder is "empty" ??? You actually have to open up explorer in your 2nd or 3rd monitor to see these files. It was fine in PT8,9,10 in the SAME Windows 7 version It is fine in the MAC versions Avid, please fix this "bug" as it has been ...more »
Ctrl+Alt+Z, which should restore previous selection is broken in windows (at least in windows 7 64 bit). The OSX counterpart works well and I miss it while working under windows.
En passent, a display/hide clip name shortcut in windows would be useful, it works fine on OSX, I don't see why it doesn't exist in windows.
Avids (Digidesign) firewire drivers are literally the bomb. If any changes occur on the FW buss, including spinning down a drive, I get a kernel panic. Supposedly approved for use with PT11HD and a Late 2013 r MacBook Pro under Mavericks, this has ben nothing short of a disaster for both me & a client. My current workaround, is to have the MBox 2 "Pro" first on the chain, with my library drives attached and set to NEVER ...more »
Every time we need to bring up single track's output volume panel in Edit window we need to click on rather small button (see image).
Why not give this a shortcut?
"Write to current" is affected by VCA automation, and there is no way to make that command not factor in VCA automation except to inactivate the VCA track, then perform the write, then re-activate it. There should be a setting/option to make write/trim to current ignore/work independently of VCA volume changes.
It would be great if you could write automation to the edit selection instead of the timeline selection, so you could punch preview automation down with the playhead moving without blasting automation across the whole timeline.
"The values of all previewing controls have been written to the entire length of the session. This command is undoable." It'd be so wonderful if there were a way to get this warning even with the "Suppress Automation Write To… Warnings" checked in preferences. I don't want to click away a dialogue every single time I use automation, but I do want to know if I blast automation on a dialogue track across the whole timeline ...more »
the avid website has a very poor SSL/security setup (see result in attached screen shot). They should improve it because their clients share important data with them (pws, ilok.acount info, credit card info etc. etc.)
I surely don't want to read about user databases hacked in the future.
Some login pages at AVID even send name and passwords in cleartext without any encryption. Not a good idea.
By default PT11 makes the mix buffer 1024 samples. With very long latency plugins, this can mount up to being a problem at mix down. There is little hit on CPU changing to 512 samples, and it halves the latency, effectively doubling your delay compensation resulting in less lag between changing plugin setting and hearing a result. The new record buffer being separate from the mix buffer is a great idea other than this. ...more »
The midi stuck notes issue that was fixed in 11.2 is now broken in 11.2.1. It may be an issue of not transmitting sustain off signals when the sequence stops.
There's not currently a way to copy fade length and type from one clip and paste it to another or others. This would be especially useful to sound designers who want to layer ambient sounds, or replace sounds without using Region Replace. I'm looking for a keystroke to copy either the top fade or the tail fade--or both!- from one clip to the next without having to manually emulate what I've done elsewhere.
With minimal plugins and 2% total CPU displayed on the System Usage meter AAE -9173 abruptly cancels a real-time bounce stating ProTools ran out of CPU power yet offline bounce yields no such error. One DUC user pulled all 3rd party plugins out of the AAX folder with the same results. Rolled back to 11.1.3 and can bounce real time with no issue. 11.2.x problem. Logic has had this feature forever and it's wonderful for audio post production. It allows mindless dragging of clips in the edit window to other tracks while retaining their relative smpte position. So simple but very useful.
Here's an Idea that is being worked on the DUC by the users to bring in a new s4 that could replace the artist series or fill the gap in between them and the current C|24
Selecting a range of regions, and pressing Ctrl + Shift + R should give the option to name all of the selected regions at once.
- instead of having to paste / enter / paste / enter many times
A quality clean/breaking tube simulated preamp, maybe with an EQ, as a FX, would give all the clean amps a needed push to stand up with the dirty amps. It would take the big gab away in volume difirence. I think we're missing an intermediary and it can in that problem allso be dificult to make smooth breaking jazz rock/blues clean sounds.
