This is evident in 11.3.1 on Windows 7: 1. Create new session. 2. Create new mono audio track. 3. Create a send to a stereo bus on the audio track. 4. Enable "FMP" in the send window. 5. Disable automation (auto off) on the audio track. 6. Start transport. Now turn the pan knob on the channel. When you release the mouse button, the pan knob in the send window returns to where it originally was. With the transport still ...more »
As a sound effects / dialogue editor, I do all of my work in the Edit Window & think it would be incredibly useful to have an indicator much like the ones for track mute or solo in the main controls bar. Just a quick glance should let me know if my groups are active before I start slicing away.
I have 3 problems with my MBOX 3. 1- At 44kHz everything works fine, but when I want to work at 48kHz I find that everything is sounding half tone lower than it should. 2- At 48kHz, MIDI does not work 3- Pro Tools 11 (both 44kHz and 48kHz) gives the following error (see image) HELP! Should I throw away the MBOX? Worst of all is that through internal audio device everything works fine. For the answers than AVID offers, ...more »
I really don't like only having post-fader inserts on Pro Tools' master faders. I always have to create a stereo aux fader to run my mix thru. Also, I'd like to have access to aux sends on the master fader as well. This way, one can also send to a "print track." Thanks.
With the iLok 2, holding all PT 11 License, it would make sense for all AAX plug in, to show up in the downloads during Purchase of cross grade, upgrade, or complete purchase. Innovation, is making things simpler for the Pro Tools Artist.
The ∅ Phase Absolute (Null) button, should be on each channel strip. Hope that it happens. Nuendo is a good example of a good debate.
From time to time, the playback cursor stucks when starting playback. In this case, the cursor is drawn ahead in respect to the actual playback position; when the playback position reaches the drawn position, the cursor resumes its regular movement.
Even better than a shortcut, we need a modifier key to temporarily switch from Standard Trim to TCE (working with both Smart Tool and Trim tool). Instead of holding the Trim tool, selecting TCE, performing the operation on a clip, and going back with the cursor to re-set the previous tool, we should be able to perform this operation without changing the Edit tool (which is tedious and time consuming: we have to move ...more »
You got a few buttons that are more focused for live use than for Studio use. Instead of keeping them that way, why not change the label to what they would actually be used in the studio?
Also, instead of the transport strip that says 1 2 3 4, have it set to rewind, fast-forward, play stop. And for the love of God take out the press shift and then press 1 2 3 4 to make it work... dumbest thing ever.
Launch Pro Tools 11 and no MIDI input is received from the MTP or Midi Express XT.
- MIDI stops working
- Pro Tools 11 becomes unstable and crashes on attempt to shut down
- Close session works, but creating a new blank session then hangs.
- Sometimes you cannot close in Task Manager.
The following errors are infrequently observed when quitting:
- The path is not found.(3)
- The parameter is incorrect. (87)
So this is a eucon-based surface… yet an updated eucon driver can't make this work in PT10 and Logic 9?
Hi Avid, I know Pro Tools isn't supported in Yosemite 10.10.1 yet, but for those who have had to buy a brand new mac, I haven't had a choice. So, when you do support the OS, please make a special note not to overlook this horrible bug. It seems Yosemite is more 'aggressive' with its Beam sync approach. So I now get a stutter/jerky playhead cursor. If I make a lot of movements with the mouse, this makes it even worse, ...more »
It would be advantageous, and again, just like the Phase ∅ Null, addition to all track IDEA, it would be great to have the ability to save your favorite click track settings to call up right away. Most over, when opening Preferences, you have the ability to deregulate energy. IE_ if you do not need 64 undo levels, why not just have 12.
A click track to me is what makes me pay attention to detail.
When attempting to change the number associated with a given Memory Location to that of an existing number (in an effort to renumber the memory locations), Pro Tools allows the operation to continue after displaying a Confirmation Dialog, but then becomes unresponsive to all mouse-related functionality.
This problems is known to occur on Windows based systems running Pro Tools HD 11.2.1
When working with mono elastic audio-enabled tracks that have been switched into Tick mode, the pan positioning in the stereo field is altered statically, irregardless of the given channel's pan pot position. In my case, a slight shift to the left occurred. Upon restoring track to Sample mode, the issue was resolved. Upon switching back to Tick mode, the issue returned. This bug prohibits users from deploying accurate ...more »
I normally drop my music .wav files from composers onto the Pro Tools application alias in my Mac's Dock but for some reason-- I updated just the day before to 11.2.2- even though there were no elastic tracks in my session and none of the offending Preferences that conform sound files to session tempo were checked, I kept getting files the wrong length, with "poly" added to the file. Is this a bug? Files were 48 kHz, ...more »
When you try to reset the volume to 0db in a group using the shortcut cry-alt-click in order to reset only one fader in the group this pulls up but the real volume doesn't change. When you hit play the track go back to the last volume setting.
Really annoying and ridiculus bug (we work with this expensive software!!!)
Make the waveform change based on your processing chain. For example, if I insert a compressor, make the waveform change to reflect what the compressor is doing to it as if I processed it with audio suite. This would help in riding faders while looking at the waveform. The compressor will have an affect on the shape of the waveform and make it easier to see what peaks to ride.
The Sample Rate Conversion in Space 11.2.2 used for converting IRs to match the sample rate of the session is of very poor quality. Space convolutions currently only sound their best when the IR is at the same sample rate as the session it is loaded in.
1) set pre-roll to 1 sec and turn on loop-playback.
2) make a selection.
3) hit play
notice the picture go black like the blink of an eye exactly at the in-point of your selection after the pre-roll.
Only happens when pre-roll and loop-playback are on. Without loop-playback it works fine.
New bug in 11.2.2
This only seems to happen under 10.8.x. Mavericks and Yosemite seem to work fine.
The bug is that st-st, st-quad, and st-5.0 IRs are convolved incorrectly. The left input side convolves with the correct impulses, but the right input side does not. The right side gets convolved with the left impulses instead of with the right impulses.
