It takes a lot of time setting up SoftKeys. Especially because one can only edit them one at a time. When I want to adjust the layout of SoftKeys to fit my workflow better, I need to delete a SoftKey and in that place, set up a completely new key from scratch. But the key I'm looking for is there, just on another page. I cannot copy and paste it, which would save me a lot of time. I need to create it from scratch. Also, ...more »
It takes a lot of time setting up SoftKeys. It would be nice if this time-consuming process could be made simpler and faster. For example, EuCon is very powerful and covers probably hundreds of features. Instead of having to know where a function is in the menu hierarchy, a find as you type would be great! This way, you don't have to search through all the menus, just type a word and the list filters by this word and ...more »
Pro Tools would benefit from having recallable mix "scenes" (or Automation parameter scenes) available within a single session. Users should be able to generate and store an arbitrary number of recallable scenes. When a scene is recalled, the faders, pans, send, plug-in settings/bypass, etc all change to their saved vales. This feature can allow for a number of significant workflow improvements. It would allow: -Alternate ...more »
New batch fades window from 12.3 is great, but the Paste to Fill Selection command (for example with room tone or a loop) doesn't summon the new Batch Fades window, it brings up the old one and you have no control over fade in/outs. If you bring up the new Batch Fades window, and set the preferences for fade in outs (Create new fade-ins and durations etc) apply as set when creating Batch Fades with Paste to Fill Selection. ...more »
I have: Intel x58 i7-970 and AMD dual SR5690 SP5100 Opteron 6276 Tyan S8232gm4r http://www.tyan.com/cn/Motherboards_S8232_S8232GM4NR Same Windows7, same soundcard Lynx AES16, same drivers, same video card, etc... Intel board/CPU changes buffer size on the fly, no need to restart ProTools, all buffer sizes are detected properly. AMD board/CPUs buffer size change need restart, and buffer size is not detected properly... ...more »
just like on the D-command
Will be great if is possible to have a loudness or metering track that show the average of loudness. In post production sometimes i need to correct a mix because is not in the parameter. Izotope have a plugin that analize the program and show the line of the loudness program. i like if ther will be something similar in protools.
When i work i usually assign some fader to my MC controll and i always spent time when a recall my session to reassign that fader. Will be great if the asignement will be saved with the session
For example I intend to make a song "A". I create session then create instrument or audio track. I start sketching some ideas
And in the play process often I born completed ideas that do not fit the song "A" for some reason but it can be great idea for song "B". Select clip(s) and "Export selected clips as New Session" option would be great))
1) Create session with audio and aux tracks
2) With option key switch all tracks to volume (on either audio or aux)
3) With option key switch audio track to Waveform
Observe "frames" view on Aux
when a track with the Space plug-in is in a latch mode and during playback it it passes a 'snapshot' (i.e. the plug-in parameter) automation point, it will start writing automation to all the plug-ins parameters. When in touch/preview mode, it will also indicate the parameters have changed. I guess it's because the snapshot recalls and thereby 'touches' automation to all the plug-ins parameters. This means that you ...more »
The following commands seems to be missing from the Eucon protocol and would be great to have available:
-Show/Hide Tracks in Group (only Show Only Tracks in Group appear).
-Select Assignments To
-Show Assignments To
-Show Only Assignments To
1) Set the Levels of Undo to 8 in Setup > Preferences > Operations (so the issue is quick to produce)
2) Create a track and some audio
3) Commit the track (there should be a Commit event in the undo history now)
4) Nudge the clip repeatedly while viewing the undo history
Note that when the Commit event is cleared, the complete undo history is gone.
in a session with considerable amount of busses it's virtually impossible to assign busses on sends or I/O's in a reasonably convenient matter. This could be hugely improved by spilling them across the lcds, or first browsing 'subgroups' (e.g. bus 1-20, bus 21-22, ...) before browsing the actual busses. Or maybe a combination, just like when inserting plug-ins (which works very nicely)
Right now if you want to change link/inverse pan/inverse rear/ F-/R inverse status, you have to do it in the pan window with the mouse. It would great to have to assigned to some of the sel/in buttons or even some extra encoders so you can access them from the S3 as well
Just like on the s3 e.g.
If you want to change the auto mode of a channel twice in a row, you have to double tap instead of single tap the corresponding sel button twice instead of once 95% of the time. In combination with the lack of proper visual feedback on the s3 this is very annoying.
When touching a fader during playback, the according auto mode button in the right side softkey section of that channel starts to blink. It would be great if this would also work when playback is stopped. It would also be great if this would work for the trim button as well. Of course this is no subsitute for a proper automation mode indicator on the lcds, but it would already be helpful.
Since the artist transport seems to be intended as a right handed device, it would make much more sense to have the shift key where the workstation key is. That way you could easily press the shift key with your thumb in combination with any other key. Right now you have to go through some plastic surgery first before you can use the transport single-handed in a convenient way. For now I m using it left-handed which has ...more »
In the import audio window there is a fader which adjusts the volume of the prelistened audio files.
This fader has no db labelling and it´s time consuming to bring it back in the 0 db position.
It would be a good idea to have the same alt click feature like in the mix window to bring this fader back in the 0 db def position.
