When there are multiple video tracks in a session a key-command/region-select is needed to select which video track is to play. Having to reach to the left of tracks to select the blue button is so yesterday. especially with the large screens. This would be very usefui when comparing multiple videos when conforming.
- Launch Pro Tools (non-HD using a "Pro Tools Perpetual" or "Pro Tools Subscription" license)
- Open a session containing VCAs or add VCA Tracks
Work would greatly benefit from the ability to determine the beginning and ending of areas (like group regions) but would cross some or all tracks and allow for the placement and editing of regions within. This would allow for the timeline based organization or cueing of work to be done, though not necessarily occupied with sound. These territories would be seamless upon the deletion within the timeline. The most important ...more »
- create a new session
- enable HEAT
- create a new mono audio track
- create audio on the track
- route the audio track to an internal bus
- commit, track bounce, freeze
On multiple systems I have observed that when exporting or bouncing files, selecting 48kHz multiple mono on the bounce/export options page results in 44.1kHz files being encoded. I work in post production and regularly send MP3 'work in progress' updates to my clients/colleagues, and it seems a bit unnecessary that files would be down sampled at my end to 44.1kHz, and then upsampled at the receivers end back to 48kHz! ...more »
For me is not so important but i think is a good feature. When i use strip silence for voice over or something similar i thing will be useful to set a fade threshold too fo end fade in and start fade out. Like an expander with hysteresis but using editing.
It would be great to have an enhanced audio suite view having an editable timeline window/lane. Time length would be determined by selected audio file length. This would be great for on the fly creation of fx during theatrical mixes where the stability of the actual session is critical. Great for complicated pitching etc.
A number of us users have spent hours trying to figure out why our iPads don't show up in the All Surfaces list in EuControl, only to find that it all works fine if we install a different router. No known settings are able to solve it. No list of compatible routers is known to exist. It currently comes down to luck whether you happen to have compatible wifi. Please test it with a wider variety and make it more compatible. ...more »
I have an active/payed for activations but because of some sort of error I couldn't activate my product to finish working with a very important and urgent music release. I have tried everything myself, so I ended up manually de-activating a licence from my iLok2 so that I could activate it again, but once I did it I completely locked myself out from using the software! I am using Avid products starting from March 2017 ...more »
Using the iPad interface we should be able to quickly and freely assign multiple automation parameters to an X/Y interface similar to the surround panner. I can see this working in the current context on a single track only. Assigning parameters from multiple tracks would require Pro Tools adding a new track type, "control track" that records only automation via this X/Y interface. I realize assigning parameters would ...more »
Pro Tools 12.8.1 hangs on freeze and commit on sessions which where started on HD system with PT 10. Doing a "save sessions copy" gives same result :
Pro tools Hangs with blank // freeze progression dialog staying blank and the flying wheel turning endlessly
XFORM is still SLOW.AS.BALLS. I'm sitting here on a 12core/3.46Ghz machine.. XForming 6 tracks that are 7 minutes long. It's taking FOREVER. What is this? EQing in Sound Tools in the early 90's?? Activity monitor is showing my system is sitting 92% idle. Aka.. Protools isn't taking advantage of the juice aka I'm sitting around WASTING time I could be doing something else. At least, lock out those track regions ...more »
