When automating a plug-in that requires a healthy amount of delay compensation, ProTools automation changes occur early in relation to the audio waveform display, by the same number of samples as required by the plug-in for delay compensation. Because the waveform display is not actually moving, I’m guessing the automation changes are occurring at the point of the original audio as opposed to after the processed (delayed) ...more »
Maybe only Win, maybe not : Create blank session, one audio track Create 2 memory locations (enter-enter num pad, marker as time property) Right-click mem loc 2 in the mem loc window and assign the already assigned number 1 Ok the warning message about replacing Freeze, no menu accessible. Workaround to un-freeze : Close the session (not quit) , re-open session. Or : Windows Task Manager, quit PT process, quit quitting ...more »
To have the warp and other markers be accessible using
voice-over so we can know they are there without sight.
For instance being able to tell how many of them there are after using numpad+5, so we can set them for things like kick and snare hits only on a drum track.
open session file option
"ALL PLUG-IN OFF"
Since Soft Keys is implemented in the new Euco Control, Id love love love to be able to program the top row with customized commands. But the most annoying as everybody knows, os the Automation arm switch location Its really impossible to mix like this. If i could move the Auto arm switches to the top fior the automation phases of my mix session it would be a total winner for me and i will fly on it. PLEASE?
Quite often it's impossible to clean up sessions that contain offline clips that are unused because they are part of a clip-group that is still in the session. Please add an option that show the parent clip-group that the selected clip belongs to. this is partly related to this request: http://protools.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Clip-list-Select-offline-clips-that-are-unused/118883-3779 Once clips go offline and live inside ...more »
I have a 3 monitor setup on my edit system, and find multiple window configurations a handy thing. When I choose a config that swaps the video on one mac monitor to another, it doesn't move as part of that config IF the video is set to fullscreen. It does move to the proper monitor IF the video is set for actual size or smaller or toggled to one of those options after the fact. Kinda of a PITA nevertheless as I always ...more »
The first reasonably priced (about USD 80) AVB Ethernet PCIe card is now available, namely the Intel I210T1 AVB-E nic. What is missing in the Windows world is glue software between the nic and ASIO. This is a request to develop an AVB driver for Windows so that owners of S3's and S3L's can use AVB to link the I/O in the S3 with their PT or Venue host.
When engaging the EQ III the output metering can be 6 db off. I have noticed this for awhile and expected it to be fixed in 11. I've uploaded a screenshot of a signal generator with pink noise going into the EQ III with a 20Hz High Pass filter. Notice the EQ Output meter. For comparison, I have 2 iZotope Insight plugins open to compar. The left Insight is metering pre-EQ and the right Insight is metering post-EQ. Insight ...more »
Nothing feels better than discovering a shortcut, a hotkey, or hidden feature. I would like to see the ability to avoid forum, where information can easily be spearheaded. With Avid Application Manager, why not have a very specific, blog dedicated to workflow.
It is so critical to have Real Time Audio Suite Plug - Ins at your call. For instance, the invert phase Plug in. It would be nice to see the ability to call up more than just one RTAS tool while recording and mixing.
Ever since Avid added the highly frustrating and illogical I/O changes (the busses tab) back in v8 or so I constantly get the I/O has changed dialog at every session launch. This is one of the most annoying and useless prompts (since I have to dismiss and go into I/O setup anyway to make any changes, I can see them right there, I don't need a MF report!!!!) and it doesn't matter how many times I change my I/O labels I ...more »
In the dialog box:
"The track(s) about to be deleted contain alternate playlists. Delete or keep those alternate playlists?"
We need a cancel button. Often we run into this without knowing that those tracks had alternate playlists. Cancel is needed here.
A feature I miss very much from my days with Sonar is the Enableing Of Waveform Preview On Aux Tracks & Master Bus. Most importantly for me this would be good to have on the master bus as I really miss it. This video will give a good reference of what I am talking about although the video is quite dated as it has been a feature of Sonar for a long time now but very useful as you will see. ...more »

CRASH! - Bug 2
Please let us use C24 also with Eucon Protocol
This is a bug that got introduced in PT11 where the big counter disappears. I work in film scoring where we display the video on a second monitor with the Bar Beat counter overlaid for the musicians to see. Here are the steps to reproduce: 1. open a session that has a video track 2. output a movie window to second monitor 3. open big counter and overlay over the movie (I put it in the upper right corner typically) 4. ...more »
As the title says. This may require a manual 'analyse now' button to avoid background processing when these values are not needed.
Alternatively, one could also make some audio suite plugins operate in the workspace (pro limiter's analyse feature, 'analyse' from the Gain plug in, Master-meter...the plug-ins that measure and meter).
Thanks for your support voting this up.
When clicking the “+” button to add multiple sources, the subsequent busses/outputs are added according to their order in the I/O setup. However, only stereo busses are added by default. When the user is bouncing a mono bus (for example, “Bus 5” or “Vocal 1”) and he adds more sources, he likely expects to have the subsequent mono busses added (“Bus 6”, Bus 7”, “Bus 8”, etc.) instead of stereo busses.
Add a command of bouncing all selected tracks on the mixer, ignoring their routing (picking them directly at their output, before they pass through other busses or plug-ins on the master fader), ignoring solos and mutes on the mixer, ignoring if they are active or inactive, and featuring these options: - enable/bypass inserts - bypass pan setting (set it to default - 0 for mono tracks, 100L/100R for stereo tracks, etc.) ...more »
