This idea is related to the I/O Window. At the moment in pro tools there are a number of issues with Aggregate devices. Often when using multiple audio interfaces in OS X 10.11 the I/O doesn't match with the devices in the I/O window. This can make determining which input is which incredibly difficult. My suggested solution is two fold. One - make it so that aggregate device I/O and the I/O correlate with input names ...more »
in a session with considerable amount of busses it's virtually impossible to assign busses on sends or I/O's in a reasonably convenient matter. This could be hugely improved by spilling them across the lcds, or first browsing 'subgroups' (e.g. bus 1-20, bus 21-22, ...) before browsing the actual busses. Or maybe a combination, just like when inserting plug-ins (which works very nicely)
Be Aware.. I have a 7.1 Output in my I/O. When using a 5.1 Bus & mapping to the 7.1 Output you lose the Rear Surrounds. If you create a 5.1 Output & Map your 5.1 Bus to that it works fine. Sat with a Dolby Specialist & diagnosed this..There is a bug when mapping to the 5.1 bus of a 7.1 output.
My Main Output is a 5.1 Output. When setting my Audition Path to that, it seems to 'downmix' to a mono output on Channel 3 (Centre) when previewing in any AudioSuite Plug Ins.
Workspace Auditioning is fine though & plays out of L&R. Surely that's the same Audition Path?
Ive tried trashing Prefs & still the same
