Currently (PT 12.8), when freezing instrument tracks, it will not mute the MIDI output of that track automatically. So, for example, if you're routing several instrument tracks to one instance of Kontakt, when you freeze the tracks, unless you mute the MIDI output of each one manually, they'll still play in the background and use up resources. The Freeze status of a track needs to be added to the parameter list in the Import Session Data Dialog box. As it is now, you get odd behavior when importing tracks that are frozen even if all media related parameters are unchecked.
Simples, commit to a specific track/s instead of PT creating new ones each the time.
I love the new track freeze and commit features, but wouldn't it be cool if you could commit a track or area selection to a new playlist on the same track?
Also the option to remove plugins would be cool too.
Would be great for sound designers and post production.

After using the 'track freeze function' I wanted to trim and duplicate a portion of 'frozen' audio, but Pro Tools 12.4 does not allow this.
It would be good to allow basic editable functions of frozen audio clips, like functionality found in Ableton Live 9 software. Using Ableton we can currently move; edit, cut, copy, paste and trim AFTER tracks have been frozen.
I really like the new commit feature! It would be even better if it had an option to make plugins inactive and create a new playlist on the same channel with the committed audio.
Please vote this idea up. Thanks!
