I would love the ability to separate my clips while recording. This would be great for anyone who does concert recording. It would allow you to quickly bounce out after a concert before you do the fine edit. It would also be helpful when recording multi-track from a Venue console. This would be a big improvement.
Problem has been sovled! There's no delete option, so this is the next best thing.
It would be enormously helpful if, somewhat like Track Resize, we could increase the size of the Toolbar. I love that we can rearrange things – now we need to be able to make it larger etc.
Pro Tools is the only software I have where the language input type disables many of the programs shortcuts on Windows.
Even though my input was set to "US English (international)" I had to change to "US English" in order for all shortcuts to work.
(My OS language is Dutch)
I think this could be fixed, as no other software I have used encountered this problem.
To change the default fade type you have to go into the preferences.
It would be more logical to automatically change the default fade when double clicking the fade to change it.
(Or add extra button next to " OK" : "Make default" )
When doing dialog I use the equal power fades.
When doing sound effects I use equal gain fades.
So that's why ;)
While I hold a Midi note down and press record, I don't want Pro Tools to record the note I'm currently pressing. I want Pro Tools to ignore that note and record notes that come in "after" I press Record (like it used to be)
I put Pro Tools into a loop and press play, then while I'm playing, I'm not able to punch in the Record button at an instant "in-between" my playing to record the notes into the loop.
As a composer, there would be great value in being able to create a similar "nested folder" structure, similar to other DAWs. While While ProTools remains my primary DAW for Film and Game work, having a large number of tracks makes management of several hundred tracks cumbersome. Currently I use groups of course, but my workflow would be improved being able to expand/collapse sections of instruments. Perhaps there ...more »

This causes Pro Tools to crash on my system.
: Create a mono audio track
: Insert a Mono/Stereo plugin
: Insert a second Stereo plugin
: Bypass the second plugin
: Remove the first plugin from the insert and select 'Remove'
The issue is resolved when both plugins are active.

I'd like to be able to color code multiple layers of markers so that they coincide with my audio layers of dialogue, foley, scene starts, music cues, etc. when I'm spotting.
It would be really helpful to have a scrolling timeline with markers view in the PT Control App.
As a solo musician and engineer, it would help to give me cues as I'm recording.
