The "Audio Suite" drop down menu should have a preferences section to select unwanted plugins & permanently remove them. This feature could also be placed directly on the plugin itself when opened; with a simple click of yes to "Are you sure you want to permanently remove "X Plugin." And it will never be seen again on the list of plugins. Currently a user has to navigate through their system, scan all their program ...more »
When bouncing to a Quicktime movie in 5.1 in PT 12.8.0 and lower, the track order is wrong when playing the resulting file in other applications. It appears as though Film order us being used, and SMPTE/ITU order is expected.
When Pro Tools is not in focus, soft keys that use a "EUCON" commands work fine but soft keys that use a "key" command send that keystroke to the in focus application. So in a real world example as I am spotting to picture using the dock transport command with a spreadsheet ans the in focus application works great, however any softkey that uses a "key" command sends those keys to the spreadsheet application. My feature ...more »
Maybe these are features but I understand them as bugs. First off the default state of the 12 soft keys on the dock surface is un-lit basically disabled, this is confusing why they seem to have no default function and no unique assignment possible from the EuControl app. They are basically dead. This complicates the user experience and trouble shooting this issue. Pressing the bottom right soft key on the Doc surface ...more »
I was wondering if this is possible in PT, or whether it's something not developed yet.. When I record a number of songs for a band, and every song has the same track instrument qualities/plugins/pans/plugin settings/sends, and you don't own a console, then you have to create a session for each song and build identical mixers for each session. You could create a template, but a template won't provide everything a console ...more »
There is an input on the back of the S3 for a mouse but it doesn't integrate with the S3 in a useful fashion within ProTools. It would be amazing to be able to bank around on the S3 with an attached mouse scrollwheel or even better, imagine being able to use a trackpad (apple magic trackpad) and use swiping scroll gestures to bank. It would be like scooting your chair down the console!
I understand why you can't have two audio/midi tracks/playlists with the same names. But you should be allowed to have an audio track called "Bass" AND an aux called "Bass".
The reason why Pro Tools is lagging on a 4-5k display is because the native resolution of Pro Tools currently supports 1080p. The 4-5k display feature is yet to be added by Avid. The current workaround for this would be switching to 1080 display so Pro Tools wouldn't lag.
I am using iMac 17.1 (5k Retina) and it is almost impossible to work with Pro Tools unless I switch to 1080 screen.
4-5k graphics support please!
Beat Detective: where adjacent clips end up further apart than they were (which is presumably half of all cases), there will be a knowable time window within which you cannot place the edit without creating a plop - it has to be far enough back from the second hit that you don't hear the start of that hit before the edit point. Beat Detective doesn't seem to know to avoid this window, so the plop often occurs before or ...more »
When a time selection is present and the Grabber tool is accidentally still on "Object" and you click a region within the time selection, the time selection disapears and the sole clip is selected or moved or whatever. I NEVER need this and it kills my sometimes carefully alligned time selection. (Even worse: spot to cursor is executed when holding ctrl at the same time which was intended to lock sliding clips in time. ...more »
I have Pro Tools HDX 12.8 using Apple Mac OS 10.12.5.
If I set up a group and deactivate it, it remains active. It has been like this for a couple of months.
I believe all my settings are correct so it must be a bug.
