I am writing to bring to attention, the issue of graphical issues in the performance of Pro Tools 10.3.9. As I continue to develop in Yosemite OS X beta, I would like to keep it that simple. It is unbearable. HELP AVID.
The Quantize to Grid feature does not work (Command-0) if the Grid is set to Clips/Markers. Expected behaviour: If the grid is set to Clips/Markers (previously Regions/Markers) and a clip or number of clips is selected the shortcut Command-0 for Quantize to Grid should move these clips so they start at the same point as their nearest clips/markers that are visible in the edit window. This is the expected behaviour and ...more »
I've tried in three different versions of Pro Tools and in several different sessions to extract a groove template from a MIDI track and quantize audio (that has been split using beat detective) to that groove template, but the timing is always off. This video demonstrates the problem -
Every time we need to bring up single track's output volume panel in Edit window we need to click on rather small button (see image).
Why not give this a shortcut?
Using an AXIOM PRO keyboard in hyper control mode with pro tools 10.3.3 is impossible since the soft keys and buttons that are used to control the keyboard are received by pro tools as midi cc. This changes parameters on instruments, resetting filters and stuff.
10.3.2 does not have this issue. I went back and forth between these versions and the issue returns when 10.3.3 is installed.
I recently did design work on a feature film and prepared my tracks at 96k to take advantage of elastic audio and hi-res recordings. When my premix mix was done, I saved/converted my session to 48k for the dubbing stage. When I checked it, I saw that automation had been lost on every parameter: usually the second breakpoint on the region, resulting in sloping angles of automation instead of "rectangles". Needless ...more »
I record a lot of classical recitals, and once I have recorded 6 minutes and 20 seconds of audio, page scrolling stops working. This is very frustrating and was a problem in Pro Tools 9 as well as pro tools 10 which I'm using now.
I have long wished that the native, non-HD version of Pro Tools would support a larger number of simultaneous audio tracks. I've been able to run some massive sessions (over 200 simultaneous audio tracks) in other native DAWs using my current computer system, but Pro Tools still limits me to 96 simultaneous audio tracks. At this point, there's no reason to have such strict track limits on non-HD systems that don't have ...more »
I do not know if this has been posted previously, nor if the feature already exists (Excuse me if it has), however is it possible in the EuControl Settings Dialog for Artist Series controllers, to have a "Save" option for the Assign and Layout tabs? I find my self working between the studio and home, and every time I open my session, I have to re-do all my Assigns and Layouts.
Whenever I use expand alternate channels to new tracks to conform field recorder channels, Pro Tools copies all audio files that match the search criteria to the session's audio files folder instead of simply relinking them. This happens regardless if the files are split mono or poly-wav and of course the session is set to allow interleaved files and all the 'copy files on import'-like options in the preferences are ...more »
Greetings. I may have found a workaround. For locking to drop frame make sure your session start is set to 06:59:00:02 or before. Keep audio where it needs to be.Tested with Mac OS 10.6.8 PT 10.1.1 w/ Sinc I/O locked to dF LTC. Also tested with Mac OS 10.6.8 PT 10.0.1 w/ CP Toolkit, MOTU Traveler locked to dF LTC
An iPad EUCON App. with just the touchscreen unit from the MC CONTROL reflected would be nice
Since at least pro tools 10.0 SansAmp plugin sometimes generates a -9219 DAE error, making a noise/clipping sound before the error popup shows, making it impossible to export a song. This is not a precise error, since sometimes you may ever several instances of the PSA plugin, but only one specific is provoking the error. If you make it inactive the session goes without any problem. But when it happens it's like a Swatch, ...more »
Whenever bringing in external samples from workspace or the edit window onto the pads in transfuser, the system hangs for a second and then pro tools shuts down completely. Prefs have been trashed and transfuser has been removed and reinstalled a few times, but nothing changes
Why do Ableton Live user get use midi controllers to controller the DAW when I still has to use the keyboard. I wish Pro tools would allow controllers like the APC 40 to be mapped to Pro Tools so I could easily get to different windows and tracks faster, and cheeper unlike the control surfaces we have now.
In Pro Tools 10, the use of Clip Gain disables the ability to nudge using any value not in the nudge menu. To reproduce this bug: 1. Manually enter a custom nudge value that isn't one of the values in the menu (say, 22ms). 2. Nudge some stuff (clips, selections, cursor -- anything), and notice that it works as expected. 3. Adjust the clip gain on any clip anywhere in the session. 4. Now nudge some more stuff (it ...more »
I've experienced a bug many times when opening sessions in PT 9 that I created in version 10 and then saved to PT 9 format. These sessions are dialogue edit sessions, so they are very fade heavy. When I open the created PT 9 sessions it tells me that there are some fade files missing, however, relinking cannot find them. When I chose "Regenerate missing fades without searching", Pro Tools hangs up for awhile, then experiences ...more »
In PT10 on OSX Lion, with a duplicate file in the trash can, bounce to quicktime copies trashed file instead of creating a new one. Regular BTD produces the correct file in the same session.
I believe if Avid would do something, like reduce cost of software upgrades or extra purchases of Pro Tools software if the owner has multiple Pro Tools system, this would save cost of studios, plus make Avid software more attractive. For instance, If I had a studio with four Pro Tools systems, I can buy one for the regular price of $500, but each additional license would be about $250, or something to that extent. ...more »
Please read the whole idea before you vote. Avid should sell only ONE standard version of Pro Tools software in which ALL current features are implemented and in which they have implemented extra features to catch up with the competition. Avid's innovative hardware should make customers choose Pro Tools over any other DAW. A few examples of how it should be: - If you buy third party hardware you get ALL current Pro ...more »
This is one that is a feature I think many people that work in Windows would love to have when working with two or more video monitors. When I hope, I use Pro Tools on a Windows rig, and I have two different monitors. I would love if Avid took the time a "unlock" the edit and mix windows from the master windows, like in the Mac version. That way, I don't waste any screen real estate, and perfect full screen on both ...more »
Consolidate in PT10 doesn't behave like I expect . It consolidate the selected area, but the new file lose every metadata the original file have and clip gain is applied to the file. I think we need an option to set what the Consolidate command should consolidate (when consolidating only a part of a region or a whole file): What I expect from the Consolidate command (in ProTools 10) is that if I select only a part of ...more »
On many Windows systems (003, HDX, etc.) a distracting click or crackle is heard at the punch point when using Quickpunch. In some cases, incorrect audio is also written (in the form of a nasty click in the audio) at both punch in and out points.
New in version 10 is the Marketplace menu. Unless Avid has great plans for this feature, it seems rather unnecessary to have a web browser inside the DAW.
