This should be easy to implement. When creating a mix group, have an option to create a vca automatically for it. The vca can have the same name as the group or add a suffix if there is already a track with that name. Place the vca above the highest selected track in the group. This would be a real timesaver.
I love Clip Gain. I work a lot with Auxiliary tracks. I wish I could have a virtual waveform for my Aux tracks and to be able to apply Clip Gain on them. That would Rock for me!
I really don't like only having post-fader inserts on Pro Tools' master faders. I always have to create a stereo aux fader to run my mix thru. Also, I'd like to have access to aux sends on the master fader as well. This way, one can also send to a "print track." Thanks.
it's imcomprehensible that when i solo an AUX track flowed by several audio tracks, all these audio track are muted. I can't hear anything. When i solo an AUX track, i need that all the track flowing in this aux, and all the track below this aux, stay OPEN. What is the utility of a solo button on an AUX track if it mute all thye track sending sound to this AUX. What does this paradigme bring to Protools ? For me it's ...more »
Aux tracks with solo safe option already enabled on tracks. Self explanatory
Hi, when I am recording Gits I usually have 6 tracks ( DI, Git FX Processor stereo, 2 direct Mics on Amp, 1 Room Mic for the Amp ). When I now duplicate the tracks I can choose to take the group assignment along or leave it. Of course unpicking this is the natural choice for me, but I would prefer if there would be a feature that will auto create a new Group with the same assignment from the previous group automatically. ...more »
PT 11.1.2 running oni Mac OSX 10.9.1 and a HDX Card.
My template starts with all master faders inactive. All audio works fine. Once I activate a Master fader (it works), if I inactivate it, I loose audio on the output it's on. If I activate it, output comes back.
This did not happen in PT 9.0.6 with TDM.
Particularly working in film and television with the use of multiple music cues in a reel or in a super session - it would be great to be able to have multiple independent tempo rulers and therefore multiple variable clicks in one pro tools session. This would be useful on the scoring stage and allow for one pro tools session per reel of film be able to record more than one cue with it's associated CLICK track - built ...more »
Would be nice to have the color palette built right into the "Create New Tracks" dialog, this would help reduce a bit of time by creating the tracks with a color already assigned to it.
This is very nice, quick, usefull and SAFE way to shorten or lengthen big projects (radio shows, film sound, music etc)instead of having to select all and have to worry you missed a clip/region ending up loosing sync or timing, missplaced sounds bla bla.
Logic has this feature (select all following) samplitude has this feature (link tracks).
Time to implement in Pro Tools too.
It would be awesome to be able to press (control + command on mac) while clicking on track name to make the track "inactive". This is the same procedure to make a plug-in or bus inactive, so would be very intuitive and follow precedent. This action would of course free up the resources used by any track or tracks (including their plug-ins) without having to use the menu selection every time.
Highlighting selected tracks by coloring backround of track name white sometime isn't enough. When you have high resolution screen it goes far left. When your attention focused at the center and you want to make action which will touch selected tracks you have to check which tracks are selected and look left (even turn head if screen is big). Blinking cursor on active tracks isn't always on the center of the screen. ...more »
So you can solo the reverb or delay or whatever you put thru your auxes without having to solo isolate the sends or put the send on pre-fader.
A VCA Strip that would include Pan, Inserts, Aux Sends that the slaves contain. I Use VCA's a lot in post production and broad changes with a VCA strip would save a lot of jumping around to each slave's parameters.
I routinely record overdubs to a grouped set of tracks. For instance, guitar mic'ed and DI. When I want another track, I select the original group and duplicate, but there is no way to make those duplicates - in one step - with their OWN NEW group, which of course is what's needed every single time. Checking the 'groups' box instead adds the new duplicates to the original's group, which is what I never want doing this. ...more »
This is observed in Pro Tools 10.3.2. Don't know if it's fixed in 10.3.3? In very large sessions, it may sometimes be preferable to have only certain tracks visible while working on a certain part of a song/project. That's how I understand the idea behind Show/Hide memory locations/profiles: I work on a certain part in a song where it's nice to only see not too many tracks, to avoid confusion. So the first thing I ...more »
In my view, one very small addition would be very powerful (from the user view, perhaps more difficult in code): Memory Locators – add the extra ability to store 'inactive /active' status of tracks. This would effectively add the ability for alternate mixes, cues, sessions and the like across the timeline (similar to Digital Performer) without too much of a performance hit because 'mixers' could be easily turned off and ...more »
Currently it's impossible to re-reel a project that was mixed in a maxed out HDX3 session because you can not import more tracks. So currently it's impossible to re-reel a big project in HDX3 which can be a show-stopper. This is a very basic standard procedure that happens all the time so I think PT should at least be able to handle twice as many tracks as HDX3 is capable of playing to move whole sections from one session ...more »
Allow Option/preference to automatically include a master fader to a new session and allow it to be included with all created groups and windows, right hand end of mix window. A check box on groups could be used to opt out in the same way you can have follow globals.
The master fader could be stored as a preset with chosen plugins and settings applied
