This would be an easy way to clean up your session view as well as to saving some CPU when not needed.
I know this feature from Microsoft Excel. Yeah, right, nothing one can compare to a DAW. But, listen: I think what engineers and editors (especially in the post world) really need is the possibility to pin a track to the top of the edit window (end even the mix window), so one can scroll vertically anywhere but certain tracks (tracks for rerecording, a guide track when editing foley or adr or similar) is visible at any ...more »
Pro tools needs improvement of the interface, you can't get rid of buttons like the magnifying glass or rewind buttons. the memory location and window configuration should be 1 window and should be docked to the side somewhere. the tracks could be modified to work better.
Improve Automation Lane It show be made easier to show a Automation Lane on every Track, showing a Send Level (A, B, C,…) (Automation Lane ≠ Track Lane [Track Lane is showing the Waveform for easy access for clip gain in this example]) (While in the Arrangement Window) You can Show an Automation Lanes for all Tracks with alt Clicking the small triangle in the Color-Bar of a Track. You can also switch the shown automation ...more »
Highlighting selected tracks by coloring backround of track name white sometime isn't enough. When you have high resolution screen it goes far left. When your attention focused at the center and you want to make action which will touch selected tracks you have to check which tracks are selected and look left (even turn head if screen is big). Blinking cursor on active tracks isn't always on the center of the screen. ...more »
Is it just my PC but PT 10.3.5 does not seem to store the way the mix window was when you save a session but when you open a session it always shows Tracks & Groups window on the left side (unlike, for example, the Edit window and the clip list)?
Already it is possible to click on the Solo indicator in the transport window or the transport panel to clear all of the Solo's on each track in the session.
The Mute indicator has no such function however, it merely indicates that you have a muted track somewhere. Would it be possible to also make this a click-able button that would clear the mutes on each track?
A command that combines two selected mono tracks into a stereo track and - the important part - PRESERVES ALL THEIR PLAYLISTS.
So the newly created stereo track will combine the hidden playlists of the two mono tracks too.
Quickly find "vox" or "sd" by typing in a search box in the edit or mix windows. Pro Tools would then narrow down the tracks displayed to show only tracked whose names contain the search string, allowing you to quickly locate tracks without scrolling. Especially useful since we are talking up to over 700 track capability now!
When editing drums in elastic audio, I have to do most of the editing manually. If I select 8 bars of audio, then quantise it to the grid setting I want, it doesn't always pick the warp markers I want. For example, it may pick up on the kick in the snare track and quantise that instead of the actual kick, therefore offsetting my kick by a few milliseconds... If you could set certain tracks to be dominant/controller tracks, ...more »
I'll appreciate a way to import stereo or N-channel tracks to multiple mono tracks.
As the title say, please let us edit grouped tracks even when some of them are hidden. Make it as a new preference (yes/not) in Pro Tools.
Would be sweet to have a button to make a mono tracks became a stereo track and vice-versa.
Just like removing unused regions Pro Tools should have the option to remove empty (audio) tracks in which there are currently no regions.
For all that people, like me, who work with hundred tracks, some times we spend so much time to find desirable track. A simple search track tool will be a simple solution for that.
I'm very angry with that bug.
When I unselect the box "latch record enable buttons" it work just for the AUDIO TRACKS, When I have one "RECORD ENABLED" AUDIO TRACK and I ENABLE one MIDI track, the PT does not DISABLE the RECORD on the AUDIO TRACK !!!!
I already lost much time with this BUG. I always work with MIDI and AUDIO together.
Allow for only a portion of a section (section of the timeline / some tracks) to be exported.
This would allow a small sub-section of a session to be exported (saved) to be more easily imported into another session.
I wish I could choose to show different tracks in Edit and Mix window. For example I don't need to see the aux tracks in the edit window unless I need to automate it.
