auto create vca checkbox in create group dialog

This should be easy to implement. When creating a mix group, have an option to create a vca automatically for it. The vca can have the same name as the group or add a suffix if there is already a track with that name. Place the vca above the highest selected track in the group. This would be a real timesaver.

automatic solo flow

it's imcomprehensible that when i solo an AUX track flowed by several audio tracks, all these audio track are muted. I can't hear anything. When i solo an AUX track, i need that all the track flowing in this aux, and all the track below this aux, stay OPEN. What is the utility of a solo button on an AUX track if it mute all thye track sending sound to this AUX. What does this paradigme bring to Protools ? For me it's ...more »

VCA Strip

A VCA Strip that would include Pan, Inserts, Aux Sends that the slaves contain. I Use VCA's a lot in post production and broad changes with a VCA strip would save a lot of jumping around to each slave's parameters.

Allow Option/preference to automatically include a master fader to a new session and allow it to be included with all created groups and windows, right hand end of mix window. A check box on groups could be used to opt out in the same way you can have follow globals.

The master fader could be stored as a preset with chosen plugins and settings applied

Higher track count

I have long wished that the native, non-HD version of Pro Tools would support a larger number of simultaneous audio tracks. I've been able to run some massive sessions (over 200 simultaneous audio tracks) in other native DAWs using my current computer system, but Pro Tools still limits me to 96 simultaneous audio tracks. At this point, there's no reason to have such strict track limits on non-HD systems that don't have ...more »

Master fader Pre / Post switch

As it is now the master fader controls the input gain of the plugin list. It would be much easier to control the output gain of the master tracks as well with the flick of a switch and for the master fader to snap to where you had it. EG: pre fader set to 0dB post fader set to -15dB for a quieter monitoring level without affecting the input level to your plugins such as compressors. This would eliminate the need ...more »

Mixer Sends Display Name of Destination Track/Channel/Output

Would be much easier to trace routings (and keep track of them) in a large session if the sends displayed the name of their destination channel, track or output (if there is one assigned) instead of the bus number. Nuendo and Cubase do this (see attached screenshot) and it saves me from constantly having to scroll around the mixer looking for the destination of "bus 57". When you click the send dropdown, it should still ...more »

Unlimited Audio Tracks and Voices

Exactly as the title says. Pro Tools 10 with ONE HDX card (c.€10,000) will give you a max of 256 audio tracks. Pro Tools 10 (€605) will give you 96 audio tracks. Pro Tools 10 with Complete Production Toolkit (c.€2,400) will give us 256 audio tracks. Of course if one is to up the sampling rate to 88.2kHz or 96kHz the audio track limitation halfs, and further still if at 192kHz the audio track count is quartered! ..... ...more »

VCA grougs for System5 and Fusion

Please add VCA-style groups to System5 and Fusion consoles. Group masters are great, but any channel can only be assigned to one master. VCA's (like in PT) allow faders to be assigned to more than one group. This is extremely helpful for bigger mix sessions and better overview. It is enough if the faders are linked in this case. Linked controls of eq, panning and so on like with group masters is not necessary. But the ...more »
