I could do without the transport section. I never use it and find the Pro Tools key commands faster. It eats up valuable real estate. I would rather either lose the right side of the console and move the buttons underneath the soft keys to make it smaller, or have four more faders on the right side for a total of eight.
The soft keys window either needs to be angled up so it can be seen straight on from a seated position, or there needs to be an adjustment for viewing angle. If it were angled up it would have the added benefit of a less deep footprint.
A frame that can be populated with control modules such as a fader, knob, transport control, music keyboard, drum pad. Some modules would be square and take up a 1x1 space such as a single knob, some would take up a much larger space like a music keyboard. We all do different jobs and we all use ProTools for our own purposes. Some record, some mix and some master. Some people are sound designers and some are songwriters. ...more »
When I touch any channel knob, the display changes to Channel level. So if you have several fingers on different channels, you soon loose track of what channel has what on it. Do not need to have a read out of channel level, as it is obvious from where the fader is, what the channel level is. This does not happen on a Mackie MCU. So you try mixing with 2 mc mixes and have say 4 fingers on each unit, and you try and remember ...more »
Easier access to change fader automation states and see an indication as to what state the fader is in.
Latest firmware/driver update Sept 1 2011 I just have to throw a thanks out into the void to Avid for the latest update. I was bitching and screaming about the faders for years.... mainly that when they reset to zero or you bank switch - all the fader slam down with such force that you could literally launch an object across the room with the faders... or more commonly - they hit the bottom of the fader area with ...more »
In the EuCon Settings Softkeys tab: It would be great if that screen could be made active in functionality via a check box whereas selecting a button there was the same as selecting it on the Softkeys. You could leave the desired button pages open like a palette and click on it as you would the Artist touch screen to relegate a command. I.E., the surface keys could be showing a whole screen of commands, not just the 12 ...more »
I think the MC Color would be great as surround panners -
Think of it - could be simple to implement as there's no moving parts with the balls. Once you let go - the control sound is in position.. and when you touch the ball again - you could move it around accordingly. Might not be as dead-accurate as a Joystick - but would still be very usefull! :)
For sound design purposes it would be great to have a virtual midi keyboard or pads on the artist control to trigger VIs or sampler plugins.
Doesn't have have the greatest playability. Just to trigger a sample once in a while. Would save huge real-estate on my desk.
Is it possible to have surround panner on MC control touch screen working with Digital Performer 7 and correct it with PT ? Surround seems to be a bit forsaken on Artist Series. On any Selected tracks the Automation control mode cannot be assigned via the touchscreen or Softkeys. You can select the Automation mode with a mouse but not with the menus on the MC Control. This bug need to be fixed once you start to use the MC Control you get use to it and it is an interuption to your workflow to have to grab the mouse or trackball to change the status of Automation. I would like to see this fixed ...more »
Why doesn´t eucon remember the order of the units and faders.
It gets very confusing with your custom layouts if the faders are never in the same order
