Let people organise the their plugins menu into folders & sub-folders the way they want. The plugin layout would be done with an Avid Standalone Application on the desktop (before loading Pro Tools) where the user can setup folders, sub-folders and place all the plugins into the desired place. It would also be possible to rename plugins to what the user wants them to be called. The setup would be saved as "User" or "Custom". ...more »
Currently you can copy a mono plugin to a stereo track, but you can't copy a stereo plugin to a mono track. I understand the reason why, but frankly it doesn't make much sense. If the setting are the same between the channels, just apply those settings to the new mono plugin, it's not that hard. If the channels are different....then a popup window appears asking which channel you want to take settings from. Example ...more »
I think that Pro Tools would start up much faster if it didn't have to scan all the plugins every time it starts up. it is very time consuming. Please, make it stop! Create a short cut key that rescans when we ask or something like that. Waves does this and LogicX does too.
It would be nice to have a shortcut while dragging plugins around that would shuffle the order of plugins. This way the user can experiment with the plugin chain order.
Have a button on the actual real time plugin that you're using that renders a highlighted region with Audiosuite.
This way you don't have to copy settings, open Audiosuite, paste settings and render.
Yes, I realize there is track freeze, but sometimes it's best to audition something through a real time plugin and then just render that one region, not the whole track.
when I switched to PT12, the plugin SPACE was installed on my system. But there was only one impulse response for each category (Church/Plates/Rooms etc) installed. I can download hundreds of IR frm AVIDs page https://www.avid.com/en/plugins/space-impulse-response-library Doing so, I can install every IR only one by one! This is not a professional way of installing a reverberation unit. It takes way to much time. So ...more »
I utilise multi-mono instantiations of plug-ins all the time and think it is a great feature for individual L/R processing. However, the ability to process the mid and sides separately would be such a game changer! I know we could insert a M/S matrix plug-in before and after a multi-mono plug-in but that is three inserts! An option in the multi-mono plug-in header to switch to M/S mode, where of course the L channel would ...more »
Start+Ctrl-clicking (Win) a plug-in parameter sets the track view to that automation lane. A new command like e.g. Shift+Start+Ctrl-clicking on another parameter of this plug-in would automatically open an additional automation lane. This avoids clicking on the little triangle and searching in a long list of parameters in the drop down menu. Useful to quickly display only those automation lanes for further editing, that ...more »
Fine adjustments work nicely on e.g volume faders in the mix window or in the output window (lots of movement for little changes). This should work for plugins as well, e.g for the frequency pots of the EQ3-7Band. It would enable better frequency sweeps (e.g. for offending freqs); the present "jumps" are too big. A mouse-move of the pot or a mouse-move of a control point in the frequency graph or a scrollwheel-move, all ...more »
I want to record in Mid-Side mode. I would do this by recording a stereo audio channel. The left channel carries the MID signal, the right channel the side signal. In the first plugin slot I like to have a MS deoder plugin, that converts the two signals into the final stereo signal, so that I can hear what the final sound will be. At the moment, PT 12.4 does not include ANY (!) MS decoding plugin. My wish is to have ...more »
Right now trim automation is only possible for volume automation. It would be great to have trim automation for any parameter, including panning and plug-in parameters. There's absolutely no reason why this wouldn't be possible. Right now it's totaly ridiculous that you have to grab that mouse to fine tune any non-volume automation parameter even if you're sitting behind a quadrillion dollar Avid console. This is an absolute ...more »
It is my position that Eleven MKII would be better if Avid would have included an integrated environment that allowed you to easily setup complete guitar tones in one environment. As it stands now, you have to use several inserts to setup a guitar tone with effects before/after the amp. Since we already have the Eleven Rack Editor, remove all the stuff that is dependent on the hardware, and package all the Eleven Effects ...more »
