It would be great to have the ability to open a session, select one or several clips and/or markers, or anything else, copy them, close the session, open another one, and paste it. Would be useful in addition to the "import session data..." that only works with tracks.
For example I intend to make a song "A". I create session then create instrument or audio track. I start sketching some ideas
And in the play process often I born completed ideas that do not fit the song "A" for some reason but it can be great idea for song "B". Select clip(s) and "Export selected clips as New Session" option would be great))
For film and TV: If I send a session from a template to an editor (or several), who does some work and changes track names to something helpfully descriptive (Cars 1-4, Rain 1-8, etc.), I'd like to be able to match tracks back into my master session, and include their changed track names as well as the clips. As it currently works, matching tracks and importing gives you of course plenty of options, but updating the ...more »
PT Control should include a view where you can look at and locate to (maybe even create) markers. There are soft keys for editing so why not have a better method of selecting regions, like from a marker to a marker. I do this all the time in the DAW, PT Control should as well, otherwise, it's editing soft keys are not useful to me.
It would be so great having a global session comments file (stored in in a subdirectory of the session named 'Comments', and the file maybe named 'Session Comments + Name of the .ptx file' for example). When changing the session start time in the Session Setup window, Pro Tools seems to erringly override Selection memory locations that have Absolute time references and treats them as relative instead (a bug). To reproduce: 1) Make a PT session with at least one track and one region 2) Create a Selection memory location with an Absolute time reference (not Bar | Beat). Note the timecode. 3) Open Session Setup window, ...more »
After PT 12.5.1 is loaded and the session opening dialogue appears there is no reaction when I double-click on the entries. NOR enter has any effect. I have to close the short cut dialogue windows and go back to 'File' and then opening 'Recent Files' to be able to open a recent session.
Do others experience the same on this item?
For a documentary, i put all my audio rush in a PT session to listen it rename, classify it etc..., but there is often a very large amound of rush (hours and hours)
So i need that a PT session could have an infinit longer, or at least more than 200-300 hours.
