Make the loading of the Disk Cache a "task" that can be paused during playback because it interferes with video playback through the AJA
Select a load of clips to "process" but instead of making new audio, Pro Tools analyses each clip and raises the clip gain to full scale. Or better to a specified amount below maximum.
Like the "Defaulter" plug-in.
Most obvious with EQ filters, when there is a sudden automation change on the edge of an incoming clip, an audible sweep is heard as Pro Tools catches up with the state change. Some kind of buffered "look ahead" would be very useful. That way automation could be much more easily copied between clips without having to extend selections to before the clip head.
I want to stay exactly where I am on the timeline and keep my zoom view unchanged as I explode a track to a lager size for fine editing.
Probably almost impossible to implement. But, when dubbing a movie, It would be really helpful to be able for two people to work on the same session at once - in different places. The mixer can carry on mixing whilst the editor can make changes at a different point in the session (listening to a separate sub feed routed to headphones) A full set of "sub" tools would be required. Double processing power would be needed ...more »
Write some automation on an audio track
Make a few selections and "Write to all enabled" - works fine
Except on an inactive track where it appears to write default values rather than "read" values.
This writes the wrong stuff and causes incorrect automation to be written
I'd like to be able to just hit play, have it skip back 3-5 seconds and then start playing and me be able to write automation
I often use the "export clip groups" function in the clip list.
A button that gave the option to "include referenced audio files" would be helpful.
Create a new blank session
Create an audio track
Create a clip group on the track
Hide the track
Save, close then re-open session
Show the track (You will notice that the clip group name is not showing in the clip - Bug 1)
Select the clip group and change its colour with the colour palette
CRASH! - Bug 2
When naming a clip by double clicking on the time line. I sometimes need long names. The text box can be resized but the text written doesn't "wrap" until you resize a second time.
When trimming out audio clips, "automation follows edit" has no effect unless there is an automation breakpoint on the clip edge. This is unhelpful behaviour. Better would be that whatever value a parameter has at the clip edge (breakpoint or no breakpoint) is dragged with the clip edge as it is trimmed. Only when AFE is on - obviously. Also, how about crossfades creating a glide between automation parameters too. An ...more »
