When bouncing to a Quicktime movie in 5.1 in PT 12.8.0 and lower, the track order is wrong when playing the resulting file in other applications. It appears as though Film order us being used, and SMPTE/ITU order is expected.
1) Put a clip on a track, make an edit with a crossfade (or an overlapping clip). 2) Copy some audio into the clipboard. 3) Make a selection over the clip downstream from the edit, and shorter than the amount that you have in the clipboard. 4) Paste special repeat to fill selection (opt-cmd-v). 5) Boom! Graphical error, AAE error 9480, playback does not include the edit, waveforms are blank. Totally repeatable. Thanks ...more »
Love the clip graphic overlay in 12.3! But now I'm getting greedy and want it when using the TC/E Tool too.
Even after trashing prefs, PTHD 12.3 won't stay in record after one DP pass. Can't figure out why.
Minor request, but would help our workflow with big sessions. After 'import session data', newly imported tracks default to selected. After 'export selected tracks as new session', exported tracks stay selected. This seems minor, but it would help us avoid mistakes.
When I copy and paste a clip from and to the SAME track, I'm often getting "Some automation parameters in the clipboard do not match the paste destination."
I understand this warning when the plug-ins don't match, but this makes no sense on the same track.
Twice now, PTHD 12.2 has crashed when I hit focus key "b" to separate clip at selection (same as cmd-e non-focus). Not sure how to make it repeatable.
Interestingly, the PT Shortcuts PDF no longer lists this command. What's happening?
In the dialog box:
"The track(s) about to be deleted contain alternate playlists. Delete or keep those alternate playlists?"
We need a cancel button. Often we run into this without knowing that those tracks had alternate playlists. Cancel is needed here.
Quoted from Ke Productions: "I take three (3) tracks (soprano, alto, and tenor); highlight the three waves; right click and select group. Now I have one big group consisting of three tracks. I use clip gain to increase the group track 3db's. When I release the mouse, the third track in the group (the bottom track) SEPARATES from the other two, leaving me with the first two tracks as a group, and the third one alone by ...more »
While in Preview mode, Pro Tools would restrict playback of the changed automation parameters to the selection only. If no selection has been made, Preview would function the usual way. With a selection, the underlying automation would play during pre-roll, then switch to the Preview automation, and switch out during post-roll. Would be useful for ADR dialog matching.
Using PT11 for editing now. Just noticed that if you use the Object tool to drag-select a bunch of clips, the Timeline selection isn't updated to reflect the start and end of the clips.
This becomes a problem when you make a clip group from the selection, because the new clip group doesn't contain all the selected clips (yes, I have timeline and edit selection linked).
MOTU's HDX-SDI box has an outstanding feature-set for post-production sound professionals. It would help us enormously to be able to send video from the Pro Tools timeline to the HDX-SDI outputs.
