I was just informed that in Pro Tools 12.8.2, going forward, AVID programmers have abandoned the link feature altogether in preferences because they can't figure out how to fix it.. This means now you have to continuously enable groups every time you want to edit grouped tracks and then disable to avoid mixing grouped faders unwantingly. Please vote to make them figure out how to fix it. What's next?
Where'd it go?It's been broken in 12.7 and I pointed out to tech support and it was fixed and broken again in HD 12.8.0 and 12.8.1 Windows and now in 12.8.2 the Link MIX/EDIT Group Enables preference is gone altogether. ???
I was hoping to get a better picture about MIDI velocity where it pertains to crossfading between two samples of the same instrument. I thought that that was part of the improvement of using sampled instruments was that there is a crossfade between a sample recorded softer and a sample recorded louder and that the greater the velocity, the greater the BLEND of the two sample become until the higher sample is most dominant. ...more »
I thought we straightened this out. I should not have to turn on automation to send midi volume controller data to a midi instrument. Or any controller data.Modulation and sustain, among others, are not affected by automation. Nor should the rest of the data (unless options could be set). Please remove any midi controller data that currently exists in Pro Tools Automation tree
I wish that, when a plug-in is notified as missing, it's PARAMETER SETTINGS were available so at least you could alternatively use a similar available plug-in set to those parameters which would allow you to come closer to the intended mix.
When I am editing vinyl clicks while zoomed into the wave form at the sample level it's time to select the pencil tool to draw out the click, and then "Chicklet" back out to overview the waveform to scrub to the next click and also switch to the selector tool to navigate to the next click and then zoom back in to the sample level again at which point again selecting the pencil tool.and then repeat on and on, click after ...more »
The ability to position the scribble strip by dragging up or down or just fix it in the center of the mixer so it can never be lost from view.
Wondering why the necessity to go the bin to export. Why can't you just right click on the clip that you want to export?
1. In Mixing preferences, when Link MIX/EDIT Group Enables are unchecked, the Suspend ALL Groups command "CTL+SHIFT+G" no longer affects the EDIT GROUP enable. In that mode, only MIX groups are suspend by CTL+SHIFT+G. There is no longer a keyboard shortcut to suspend EDIT groups. It would be helpful to the workflow if there was a shortcut command when it is in this option mode. 2. Also, what is going on when you click ...more »
It irks me that the coolest basic midi editing window, where you can edit and align midi notes to an adjacent audio track right on the main timeline, has the dumbest, most frustrating vertical scroll tool. When notes are out of view above and below their scale, the only way to scroll up or down to access them is to get over to the track's keyboard at the extreme left and navigate all the way to it's top and try to get ...more »
Is there a reason the buss assignment buttons in the mixer are not able to be color coded? Seems like that;'s more helpful than anything color-wise. I admit that when creating anew track I often forget to put it in the mix buss and it's left out of the mixdown. Seeing a green buss on all stereo mixdown channels and red busses on drum sub buss, etc.
I.E., If a piano part changes to a guitar clip later on down the timeline, it would be great if the scribble strip reflected that name change. Especially when doing multiple songs or cues in one session. So one way to implement would be t o enter a channel name and check box click "at Position" or just don't don't check for normal channel naming.
