Where I work, we laydown audio tracks to HDCAMSR tape from one ProTools HD system and simultaneously catch stems on a 2nd chasing ProTools HD system and the edits are consistently off by a different amount every time. Usually it's a least 4 frames and some variable amount of samples between 0 and 1500 and the offset is different every single layoff even when no offsets change. This has been happening since before we moved to PT 8. It usually takes 3-4 layoff attempts with different offsets to land an accurate layoff within 100 samples, but we should be able to find some setting that consistently delivers sample-accurate layoffs to HDCAM. We've had experts in to validate our Sync, tried multiple HDCAM decks that work perfectly with our AVIDs, and tried using Serial Time-Code and LTC, with no improvement. This is super annoying.

I spend a ton of time cleaning up spurious automation between audio regions. Many times this is to smooth out instantaneous volume jumps at the start or end of a region. When automation is dense, manual selection is super tedious. Two suggestions: 1) User selects 1 or more automation pts between two regions and a shortcut key can be invoked to "expand automation selection up to pre-post region boundaries". The "DEL" to clear them if it looks "safe" to do so.
2) Provide a "grow/Shrink" selected automation points hot key function. So that a user can pick a middle automation pt, and manually exand(or shrink) the selected list of automation points by a point from each end per invocation.
This will help me leave just the points I want in case the automation value I want for a region happens to be defined outside that region.
3) Ability to select a whole track and "Create automation keys" at the region boundaries if there is no key present (+/- some delta of time).
