Just as the EQ window pops up for the selected channel when you select the EQ soft knob on the Artist Control unit, it would be obvious to have the Panner window pop up for the selected track when you touch the Panner soft knob. I'd like to see this on the mix units too.

Command+Option+Control- click on the same control shows that lane on all tracks, which is very useful. However, while Command+Control- click on a control in a plug-in window reveals that automation lane in the edit window, Command+Option+Control- click on the same control, which should show that ...more »
There are a few automation creation and manipulation improvements I'd love to see in Pro Tools. These are more for sound design than mixing, though they could be very helpful in a mix, too. The Artist Control's touch screen surround panner was a major selling point for me, but I have yet to figure out how to use it to get the sound to come from the corners of the panning field. The control only allows the placement to be within a circle which is tangent upon the centers of the four 'walls', but well within the corners of the 'room'. Or am I missing something?
When a track is hidden in Pro Tools it can't be assigned to a fader on the Artist Series controllers like MC Control and MC Mix, and thus the solo and mute buttons don't work either. This works with Command 8, as well as D-Command and D-Control. It seems an oversight not to enable this in the Artist Series.
While a Session is open it would be nice to enter comments regarding versions, things to do, etc. This information would be MUCH more valuable if it could be searched in the file system In the Mac OS X system that would mean being searchable in Spotlight. Any comments, keywords or tags could be found without having to open the session to see them.
