The title of this says it all..
There simply isn't enough space for detailed track names to be legible. Let us drag this out horizontally and do the usual track name smooshing if it's any smaller.

This plug-in is almost the same price as Logic X. And, the full EXS24 (which was $500 a decade ago by itself) is included in that.
This should just come standard with PT.
The Current spot for the static Clip Effects is in such a clumsy place, *I CANT STRESS THIS ENOUGH*
... it sucks,,, and even sucks more on a 4k monitor as it's way off to the left.
Allow this window to be floating AND SCALEABLE so we can quickly tweak stuff on the fly by having this hovering close by to the tracks we're working with.
Having the clip Waveform overviews re-calculate for Clip-based FX (Filter/EQ/DYN) would be tremendous.
In the same way the clip-based Gain line does this.
Transport online has two states in Pro-tools... when it's waiting (the transport online button is flashing) and when Protools is locked and chasing (transport online is actively chasing).
If I assign 'transport online" to a button on my MC Transport.. the light is always solid, regardless of the state.
This should mimic the button in protools... either fully off, flashing, or solid when chasing is active.
Update installed, new session.

XFORM is still SLOW.AS.BALLS. I'm sitting here on a 12core/3.46Ghz machine.. XForming 6 tracks that are 7 minutes long. It's taking FOREVER. What is this? EQing in Sound Tools in the early 90's?? Activity monitor is showing my system is sitting 92% idle. Aka.. Protools isn't taking advantage of the juice aka I'm sitting around WASTING time I could be doing something else. At least, lock out those track regions ...more »
Nothing drives me more insane than forgetting my stupid work ilok if i have to quickly run out somewhere with my laptop.
What would be great is if if your ilok wasn't available, at least let protools open in Protools First mode... and if you launch with the key in, it'll open as Protools or HD depending on the license.
Less, installers, less bullshnit.
I'm finding that if you have a mixer window open, and then have a bunch of floating mixer strips open - the refresh of the meters drops significantly in updating speed. It makes no difference if it's on my primary or secondary monitors, and my Graphicss card is plenty powerful (GT-980TI). Also. meter performance with NO floating meters is totally fluid, even if I have a 1080p video running on the same screen. ...more »
Just like Clip Gain and the Clip Gain line, it would be rad if the result of any clip-based effects would update the clip(s) waveform overview.
