Make all midi/instrument tracks available in the drop down. Add a multi-track pop up to not require closing and opening the midi editor so often when working with a lot of midi parts.
I know we have the events list, but it would be nice if it was updated, so that we can see incoming and outgoing midi messages.
This would make life easier, when working with controllers or iPad controllers like Lemur
When you are producing a track that is so annoying and it takes you out of your creative flow.
I know no other sequencer on the market that has this issue. And this can't be a CPU or a Ram issue because the competition clearly... more »
Configured correctly, the MIDI drum patterns lag audibly while auditioning the EZplayer libary thru Kontakt.
Once I drag the pattern to the Kontakt instrument track, the patterns play fine.

It would be really great to be able to draw curves on midi tracks for CC control on regions. Just like all the other DAW's out there.. Please make this happen and it will increase workflow :)
This is probably one of the largest setbacks to Pro Tool's Midi Platform. Being able to move around midi notes with the numerical keyboard is a must have feature that would take little to no time to program into the software. Key features such as moving around notes with the arrow keys, lengthening and shortening notes with a secondary key command, and octave skips are necessary in such a program as Pro Tools.
Take a page from Cubase's book and have an option (or default) where each note in the piano roll of the MIDI Editor also displays it's note name.
In dense parts or score, being able to quickly read where a "bad" note is or how the part is laid out in Piano Roll mode would make life SOOOOOOO much better for those of us writing music daily.
Attached picture is low-res, but you get the idea.
It is a necessity for easily auditioning Software Instruments or even laying down ideas on the go - ie on a laptop. Why this hasn't been implemented into Pro Tools yet is absolutely mind blowing.
Solution: It is very simple. Just like there is a keyboard focus button which activates all the shortcuts there could be a "Midi Keyboard"... more »
Pro Tools has a function to Export Audio Regions as Files, but there is no MIDI equivalent. The workaround is very time consuming.
Please add "Export MIDI Regions as Files"
EDIT: I'm aware that you can Export the track as one MIDI file -- Export Audio Regions as Files lets you export all separated regions on a track or in the Region List as separate Audio files. There is no MIDI equivalent.
Like in ableton or cubase midi effects like arpeggiators ,chord plug ins, pitch plugs etc. that can be used to trigger xpand or any other rtas instrument
This is not a new concept or idea. All other DAWs have this. Many have had it for over... more »
Where is audio to midi?!? Digi, its 2009! You have a great program but sometimes I wonder... If we had this, we wouldn't have to buy Drumagog to replace live drum sounds. We'd do audio to midi, then use the new midi track with BFD or DFH Superior.
We could sing a bass line and then have XPand play it on the bass!
