Please have the midi real time controls behave like Logic Pro X so while you are playing a midi clip you can fine tune and adjust midi data (quantize, velocity, etc) with sliders. This would eliminate hitting "Apply". Truly in realtime and accessible in the midi window like Logic Pro X's midi editor window on the left. Logic has collapse mode which gives focus to only the data recorded and not the whole piano roll. Very... more »
I have midi track, already have a midi clip. Midi merge is off. Loop playback and record is off (and so is destructive and quickpunch record). Also tried dynamic transport on and off. When I record this midi track, it doesn't create a new midi clip, it is updating the existing clip. I have Midi merge off so I am confused what it's doing this. I want it to create a whole new midi clip when I record in this mode. also... more »
Pro Tools LE 5.1 open as 'blank' in PT 12.5.0
In the Edit window, it's convenient to work with MIDI in velocity view most of the time. I can't think of any reason why we should have to switch to Notes view to consolidate.
Experiencing MIDI Thru delay when using EZplayer Pro to audition MIDI drum files thru an instrument track with Kontakt & Steven Slate Drums 3.5. Configured correctly, the MIDI drum patterns lag audibly while auditioning the EZplayer libary thru Kontakt. Once I drag the pattern to the Kontakt instrument track, the patterns play fine. When playing back MIDI drum patterns on an instrument track along w/audio, the instrument... more »
MIDI Editor sometimes displays Ghost/Phantom Midi Notes...
Do not affect sound, do not sound, they disappear when I separate Midi parts in Editor Window. Low Priority.
Other's have seen Phantom/Ghost Midi Notes in OSX, PT12.
Sorry if this is a repeat request... I think it would be great if there was a MIDI GUI where you can visually drag and connect certain functions on a MIDI controller straight to the Plug-In or other part of Pro Tools for control. For more clarification, if a company like Akai or M-Audio or Novation took a picture of their MIDI Controller, had little blue boxes around each knob/fader/slider/etc. that can be mapped,... more »
We should be able to save and recall real-time property presets the way we can store plug-in presets (especially Delay offsets).
To me, one of the top features in Logic (and even GarageBand), but missing from ProTools, is this: Being able to put down a drum track, tell it where to play, tweak the complexity/loudness/fills/swing/etc, and straight away get a pretty decent 'human'-sounding drum track. It's also possible to have it 'follow' audio tracks and more effectively pick out a rhythm. It can even be copied to a MIDI track, tweaked and put to... more »
I saw they fixed this "bug" - 'Record enabling for MIDI/Instrument tracks are once again independent from record enabling on Audio tracks. (PT-239401)' but personally I'm sad about that! As a music creator, I go back and forth between recording guitar and VIs constantly. With latch record off, I expect that the last track I record enabled is the only one record enabled. It's unintuitive for me to have the behavior be... more »
Make all midi/instrument tracks available in the drop down. Add a multi-track pop up to not require closing and opening the midi editor so often when working with a lot of midi parts.
I am opening up a new bug report, since the one that's listed here is listed as Fixed, but it's still happening on PT12.5.2!!! http://protools.ideascale.com/a/dtd/Score-editor-very-slow-to-open/31675-3779 please download attached file and open up session. attempt to double click on any midi region to load midi score view and observe that it takes anywhere from 30 sec to a min to open up score view. occurs both on... more »
I utilise the transpose semitone key command all the time and would find a octave transpose key command very useful and a huge time saver.
In the MIDI editor, you can solo and mute the track you're working on, but you can't record-enable it. You also can't tell if it may already be record-enabled. It would really help my workflow to be able to quickly pop into record without flipping back to either the mix or edit windows to know what track(s) are currently record enabled and be able to modify that from here.
Currently (PT 12.8), when freezing instrument tracks, it will not mute the MIDI output of that track automatically. So, for example, if you're routing several instrument tracks to one instance of Kontakt, when you freeze the tracks, unless you mute the MIDI output of each one manually, they'll still play in the background and use up resources. The feature I'm requesting is to simply make it so whenever you freeze a... more »
