A build-in plugin manager that would allow you to turn plugins on or off AND clearly specifies the correct versions of the installed plugins. After restarting Pro Tools your plugins would then be turned on or off according to the settings you made in the plugin manager. It would be fantastic if it could be done WITHOUT a restart of Pro Tools, BUT even if i do have to restart Pro Tools this would make such a difference ...more »
This line of plugins with 8.0 is really pretty wonderful. I am so happy with em. But why not include a general use plugin for fast frequency analyzer with a nice graphic display to assist with more efficient eq adjustments.
Just a nice stock Vocoder please.
Let people organise the their plugins menu into folders & sub-folders the way they want. The plugin layout would be done with an Avid Standalone Application on the desktop (before loading Pro Tools) where the user can setup folders, sub-folders and place all the plugins into the desired place. It would also be possible to rename plugins to what the user wants them to be called. The setup would be saved as "User" or "Custom". ...more »
Currently you can copy a mono plugin to a stereo track, but you can't copy a stereo plugin to a mono track. I understand the reason why, but frankly it doesn't make much sense. If the setting are the same between the channels, just apply those settings to the new mono plugin, it's not that hard. If the channels are different....then a popup window appears asking which channel you want to take settings from. Example ...more »
During audio playback and plugin mixing only with no other plugins inserted but just Avid's Dynamic 3 Compessor or Gate and the plugin window is open and on screen and mixing with the plugin the whole UI get really sluggish and lags but the audio is not delayed (similar to the El Capitan GUI lagginess before 12.5) but when I move the plugin window to the side almost out of sight the lag and sluggishness is completely ...more »
I know it's not impacting everyone, but for me, going from 12.7.1 to 12.8.1 introduced a new crash which happens every time I try to quit the app: it just shows the generic 'Send to Avid' crash reporter. Apparently, the same happened for some others who tried 12.8.0 also. For me, it's completely tied to whether or not I have Guitar Rig 5.2.2 in my plugins folder or not, but there could well be other plugins related to ...more »
I want to record in Mid-Side mode. I would do this by recording a stereo audio channel. The left channel carries the MID signal, the right channel the side signal. In the first plugin slot I like to have a MS deoder plugin, that converts the two signals into the final stereo signal, so that I can hear what the final sound will be. At the moment, PT 12.4 does not include ANY (!) MS decoding plugin. My wish is to have ...more »
It would be nice to have a shortcut while dragging plugins around that would shuffle the order of plugins. This way the user can experiment with the plugin chain order.
I think that Pro Tools would start up much faster if it didn't have to scan all the plugins every time it starts up. it is very time consuming. Please, make it stop! Create a short cut key that rescans when we ask or something like that. Waves does this and LogicX does too.
Have a button on the actual real time plugin that you're using that renders a highlighted region with Audiosuite.
This way you don't have to copy settings, open Audiosuite, paste settings and render.
Yes, I realize there is track freeze, but sometimes it's best to audition something through a real time plugin and then just render that one region, not the whole track.
