It would be quite useful for multi-room facilities to be able to use the collaboration features in 12.5 independent of the avid cloud over a LAN.
The cloud collaboration feature for Projects should include an option to store and collaborate on unlimited Projects using a single account.
Limiting an account to 5 or 10 projects makes the feature hard to use for users who sometimes juggle 20 Projects at a time.
Working as a Project when the need arises and as a Session by default isn't sustainable when managing high volume work flows.
In collaboration tools, both the invite another user and artist chat buttons create a blank popup window that never populates (waited up to 20 minutes). No error message. I started working on a feature film recently, with the group of people. We decided to use Avid Cloud Collaboration as the deadlines are tight as always. But unfortunately we ran into problems right away, specifically we cannot work on the same channel simultaneously. Sharing edits or even markers deletes other people's work on the same channel or marker field. We found a workaround, but this doubled the session... more »
The biggest hurdle in using cloud collaboration is the inability to version projects. This greatly hinders our ability to work backwards when needed.
For what it's worth, I have not had one session in the last 15 years that I did not need to work backwards.
