As a music creator, I go back and forth between recording guitar and VIs constantly. With latch record off, I expect that the last track I record enabled is the only one record enabled. It's unintuitive for me to have the behavior be... more »
In the Edit window, it's convenient to work with MIDI in velocity view most of the time. I can't think of any reason why we should have to switch to Notes view to consolidate.
I think it would be great if there was a MIDI GUI where you can visually drag and connect certain functions on a MIDI controller straight to the Plug-In or other part of Pro Tools for control.
For more clarification, if a company like Akai or M-Audio or Novation took a picture of their MIDI Controller, had little blue boxes around each knob/fader/slider/etc. that can be mapped,... more »
We should be able to save and recall real-time property presets the way we can store plug-in presets (especially Delay offsets).
In the MIDI editor, you can solo and mute the track you're working on, but you can't record-enable it. You also can't tell if it may already be record-enabled. It would really help my workflow to be able to quickly pop into record without flipping back to either the mix or edit windows to know what track(s) are currently record enabled and be able to modify that from here.
Many features had me winning over Logic, Ableton and Garage band. One that made Pro Tools look inept was what happened when importing an elaborate MIDI file. This was one that had a decent mock up 30+ tracks of the score from Raiders of the Lost Ark.
All the other DAW's read the midi track names on import. PT12.8.3 did... more »
Make all midi/instrument tracks available in the drop down. Add a multi-track pop up to not require closing and opening the midi editor so often when working with a lot of midi parts.
I utilise the transpose semitone key command all the time and would find a octave transpose key command very useful and a huge time saver.
Will be great for musicians and producers to see the chords in the big counter, specially in recording session situations. I've seen this option in old softwares of big mix consoles.
Important: An option for MIDI chord recognition, and send them directly to the chord rule. AVID Sibelius is the best example for this option.
Many people actually rehearse their gig ....,
- trigger samples to tempo maps etc running in pro tools,,
- or others who like JAM along via Pro Tools on a Macbook Pro's etc with a decent low latency Interface hooked up to their rehearsal room P.A's , and once in a blue moon they may actually record with it.... more »
So, for example, if you're routing several instrument tracks to one instance of Kontakt, when you freeze the tracks, unless you mute the MIDI output of each one manually, they'll still play in the background and use up resources.
The feature I'm requesting is to simply make it so whenever you freeze a... more »
A midi arpeggiator much like the one found in ableton live. A midi effect that arpeggiates midi signals, used to control plugins or hardware. A full suite of such midi tools would sure be great, but an arpeggiator would be a nice start.
The competition has had this sort of creation tools for years.
