Would enjoy having this feature included in the S3 as I found it to be very helpful while on the S6. Makes for a handy way to keep channels temporarily in place without creating a layout.
Why do I need extenders to connect my keyboard and mouse to the mac, when I have a S3 with USB ports on the same desk.
A separate soft key assignment for e.g. aux j to fader would be more convenient than pushing aux-page-page-page-page-page-page-page-page-page-flip.
Making fader layouts is way too slow.
* Assign tracks clicking on tracks or faders in Pro Tools
* Use the same key commands of Pro Tools routing when assigning tracks in Eucontrol (eg. ALT + blank strip = all tracks blank, SHIFT + ALT + blank strip track = only selected tracks blank, ALT + CMD + track 1 = track 1, track 2, track 3, ...)
* Assign tracks touching faders on the S3
The ability to import and export S3 fader layouts, especially since they get lost when opening and saving a session with non S3 equipped Pro Tools setups. Importing fader layouts from an older session would be much faster, than starting all over in the S3 editor.
With the artist mix series of controllers, when you scroll into view on the mix or edit window of ProTools (either by right clicking on track name and selecting or by holding down SHIFT/CONTROL and clicking) the controller follows the selection and puts the track on the far left. This is not the behaviour on the S3. It would be great if it was.
It would be pretty great to be able to spill memory locations to either the top or bottom row of OLEDS.
Using them as straight up Verse/chorus etc. markers or for recalling window configs etc would be extremely powerful.
There is an input on the back of the S3 for a mouse but it doesn't integrate with the S3 in a useful fashion within ProTools. It would be amazing to be able to bank around on the S3 with an attached mouse scrollwheel or even better, imagine being able to use a trackpad (apple magic trackpad) and use swiping scroll gestures to bank. It would be like scooting your chair down the console!
When using a VCA within a VCA, it would be great if the behaviour followed the parent/child nesting model. For example. In my main drum VCA, I have sub VCA's for snare, kick, close mics, far mics etc. I add the sub VCA's to the main drum VCA so that when I spill the main drum VCA, I have my sub-groups all laid out. When I enter a sub group to edit, and then return (double clicking select on far right fader) it takes me ...more »
It would be great to be able to create layouts with more than 16 channels. For example, let's say I have 24 tracks of drums/percussion. I'd like them to be all in a single layout, where I can Bank/Nudge through only the drum tracks within my layout.
Currently, I would need two different layouts and I would have to remember what track is in which layout etc.
Because S3 faders are motorized, they move to follow automation when playing back and re- cording (when the track is set to an automation read or write mode, and not Off). During critical listening passes, the sound of the fader motors and their automated movements may be dis- tracting. You can temporarily shut off (or mute) motorized fader movement using the Fader Mute switch. In the DIGI 003 there is that option.
Clicking on a Knob of a freq parameter switch the function to the Q parameter of the attached band.
It could be the same for the Dock.
When the send page is displayed, clicking on a knob mute or unmute the attached send.
It could be the same for the Dock.
It's great to have the talkback functionality on a Pro Tools S3. It would be even better, when it would be possible to mute talkback automatically when Pro Tools is recording and open it when in play or stopped.
Make it possible to flip parameters for example the gain of en eq-band by pressing shift and option/alt and touching the correspondent knob or fader on the control surface. Just like if you shift option-click control points in the EQ graph.
