Sorry if this is a repeat request... I think it would be great if there was a MIDI GUI where you can visually drag and connect certain functions on a MIDI controller straight to the Plug-In or other part of Pro Tools for control. For more clarification, if a company like Akai or M-Audio or Novation took a picture of their MIDI Controller, had little blue boxes around each knob/fader/slider/etc. that can be mapped,... more »
Fine adjustments work nicely on e.g volume faders in the mix window or in the output window (lots of movement for little changes). This should work for plugins as well, e.g for the frequency pots of the EQ3-7Band. It would enable better frequency sweeps (e.g. for offending freqs); the present "jumps" are too big. A mouse-move of the pot or a mouse-move of a control point in the frequency graph or a scrollwheel-move, all... more »
Start+Ctrl-clicking (Win) a plug-in parameter sets the track view to that automation lane. A new command like e.g. Shift+Start+Ctrl-clicking on another parameter of this plug-in would automatically open an additional automation lane. This avoids clicking on the little triangle and searching in a long list of parameters in the drop down menu. Useful to quickly display only those automation lanes for further editing, that... more »
The feature to set default linked channel in plug-in to, for example, center when opening the plug-in. A lot of times in post we use multi-mono plug-ins and the default channel for monitoring the plug-in window is the left-channel, when it's often the case that we would like to monitor the center channel.
edited and premixed a show at home on my pt12 hd rig and used the pro limiter and revibe plugins from my pt12 subscription license. took it to the stage that has a pt10 hd rig with full version of pro limiter and revibe installed and got a "no license found on ilok" error for both plugins, apparently the pro plugins license in the pt12 subscription is different than the full version of the pro plugins and the pt12 license... more »
This idea has to have been brought up in the past, but I couldn't locate it with the search engine. What I'm talking about is a plugin that is basically an effects rack of plugins. If you have seen Nomad Factory Magma or Blue Cat Audio Patchwork, then you are already familiar with the concept I'm talking about. The difference between those 2 plugins being that you would be able use any of the plugins you have regardless... more »
It would be nice to have a shortcut while dragging plugins around that would shuffle the order of plugins. This way the user can experiment with the plugin chain order.
when I switched to PT12, the plugin SPACE was installed on my system. But there was only one impulse response for each category (Church/Plates/Rooms etc) installed. I can download hundreds of IR frm AVIDs page https://www.avid.com/en/plugins/space-impulse-response-library Doing so, I can install every IR only one by one! This is not a professional way of installing a reverberation unit. It takes way to much time. So... more »
I want to record in Mid-Side mode. I would do this by recording a stereo audio channel. The left channel carries the MID signal, the right channel the side signal. In the first plugin slot I like to have a MS deoder plugin, that converts the two signals into the final stereo signal, so that I can hear what the final sound will be. At the moment, PT 12.4 does not include ANY (!) MS decoding plugin. My wish is to have... more »
During audio playback and plugin mixing only with no other plugins inserted but just Avid's Dynamic 3 Compessor or Gate and the plugin window is open and on screen and mixing with the plugin the whole UI get really sluggish and lags but the audio is not delayed (similar to the El Capitan GUI lagginess before 12.5) but when I move the plugin window to the side almost out of sight the lag and sluggishness is completely... more »
To earn more money from the customers, I propose a Visa or Master Card - based plugin,
so Avid can calculate every Bounce-second exactly ...
And guess what, Avid can redefine the (bounce) rate every day.
Great, I love my Idea - so i have to share.
Half of my plug-ins have expired, however they still appear in the Audiosuite and Insert menus. With the recent craze of Pro Tools 12 and the whole "rent-a-plugin", Pro Tools is no longer asking nor moving the plug-ins without a valid licence to the unused folder. (I can understand and assume why of this behaviour because of the rent feature), but a) I don't want to see the expired plugins still showing as It is really... more »
Let people organise the their plugins menu into folders & sub-folders the way they want. The plugin layout would be done with an Avid Standalone Application on the desktop (before loading Pro Tools) where the user can setup folders, sub-folders and place all the plugins into the desired place. It would also be possible to rename plugins to what the user wants them to be called. The setup would be saved as "User" or "Custom".... more »
Have each insert in a visible tab rather than having to select from a drop down menu. Like Studio One. Also allow selection of plugin by pressing its corresponding letter. Might need insert window keyboard focus to work.
It is my position that Eleven MKII would be better if Avid would have included an integrated environment that allowed you to easily setup complete guitar tones in one environment. As it stands now, you have to use several inserts to setup a guitar tone with effects before/after the amp. Since we already have the Eleven Rack Editor, remove all the stuff that is dependent on the hardware, and package all the Eleven Effects... more »
