It takes a lot of time setting up SoftKeys. Especially because one can only edit them one at a time. When I want to adjust the layout of SoftKeys to fit my workflow better, I need to delete a SoftKey and in that place, set up a completely new key from scratch. But the key I'm looking for is there, just on another page. I cannot copy and paste it, which would save me a lot of time. I need to create it from scratch. Also, ...more »
It takes a lot of time setting up SoftKeys. It would be nice if this time-consuming process could be made simpler and faster. For example, EuCon is very powerful and covers probably hundreds of features. Instead of having to know where a function is in the menu hierarchy, a find as you type would be great! This way, you don't have to search through all the menus, just type a word and the list filters by this word and ...more »
It would be great in the midi editor to be able to name the piano roll keys for writing drum parts or a drum editor dedicated to this.
Suggest to add a user created directory of folders in the clip bin. Drag and drop - moving parent or sub-clips into folders for easier management of files in the pro tools main window.
Take a page from Cubase's book and have an option (or default) where each note in the piano roll of the MIDI Editor also displays it's note name.
In dense parts or score, being able to quickly read where a "bad" note is or how the part is laid out in Piano Roll mode would make life SOOOOOOO much better for those of us writing music daily.
Attached picture is low-res, but you get the idea.
Pro Tools 11 looks dated with it's skeuomorphic interface and plug-in designs. I'd love to see it go and replaced with an efficient flat graphical design.
Elastic Audio changes audio-length only. Unfortunately all automation will stay at original length. This unlinked manner makes the nice Elastic Audio feature quite worthless in my opinion since all existing automation goes wrong after Elastic editing. So what about "Elastic-Automation" ? Intuitive standard behavior should be linked timescaling of Audio and Automation in one edit-step. Working title: "Elastic Audiomation". ...more »
We could use the ability to solo a bus instead of having to select all the individual tracks in order to hear the mix. As you can see in the image below, in order to hear all the tracks routed to "Break Mix" I have to solo each one. It's not so bad when there are 2 tracks but with big sessions this gets complicated. As you can see in that image there are two blank spots next to "Mute" and "Solo." These could be use ...more »
This is a MUST now that Pro Tools is more mobile. Ableton has it and Logic both have it. It is a necessity for easily auditioning Software Instruments or even laying down ideas on the go - ie on a laptop. Why this hasn't been implemented into Pro Tools yet is absolutely mind blowing. Solution: It is very simple. Just like there is a keyboard focus button which activates all the shortcuts there could be a "Midi Keyboard" ...more »
1. An expandable panel in the mixer would be really helpful.
2. A bigger comments that sits like the regions bin. A lot of us write songs in Pro Tools and have to use a text editor to do so. With this addition we could write lyrics as we produce which would be awesome.
I wish you could COMMAND+DRAG the already created output of a track to the input of another for quick routing. You could do this for busses too.
When in an automation view of a track. Tab to transient should change to tab to automation breakpoint.
I hate when I'm using the smart tool to create a crossfade and I get the "bounds" error message. It would be cool if when you clicked on the regions to start your crossfade pro tools would draw little dotted lines to show how far each region extended under the other. This would eliminate a lot of guessing. Also, a preference option could be available that when selected, only allows you to extend the crossfade out to ...more »
All users claim for it for long time.
All another softwares have it.
All people does not understand why PT doesn't have it yet.
Hi guys, love the software. Would really help if we could name the tracks when we set them up. I.e. when create a new track, the fields would be 1) # tracks to create, 2 ) Mono or Stereo, 3) Type of track [Aux, Audio, Instrument etc...] 4) Sample or Ticks 5) Track Names. If there are multiple tracks to create, give us the option to name ALL new tracks at the create stage, or bypass the naming at this stage. This way when ...more »
