While "enable automation in record" was added in pro tools 11, VCA's still can't control the channels assigned to them if the channels are in record. From the PT 2018_1 Reference guide... "When a slave track is record-enabled (the Record Enable button is lit) or set to Input Only mode (the TrackInput button is lit), its automation is temporarily turned off, and its Volume fader is no longer affected by the VCA Master." ...more »
it would be helpful to have a eucon preference to display mix only or edit only for group assign. There is currently no way in PT to change group ID letters and the S3 lays out the groups alphabetically, by group ID. Unless you are extremely organized and diligent with your group management, you end up with a fairly unorganized looking group list when you spill them out on the OLEDs. In PT, I manage my groups by keeping ...more »
It would be cool if you could spill playlists the same way that you spill VCA's on the S3. being able to comp this way would be a huge time saver.
It would be great to be able to re-assign the select button on the S3 via Eucontrol prefs. For those using the VCA spill workflow, this would be killer. I know that a lot of users find that having the select button in between the faders can be a bit tight. How about being able to assign it to a touch or press of the top or middle row knobs via a eucontrol preference. It could also work to use a keyboard modifier(s) in ...more »
When using a VCA within a VCA, it would be great if the behaviour followed the parent/child nesting model. For example. In my main drum VCA, I have sub VCA's for snare, kick, close mics, far mics etc. I add the sub VCA's to the main drum VCA so that when I spill the main drum VCA, I have my sub-groups all laid out. When I enter a sub group to edit, and then return (double clicking select on far right fader) it takes me ...more »
There are few things that I want to group as much as a pan - having groups panned by the VCA would be awesome!! Before anyone suggests otherwise, I know what a traditional VCA is... and in addition to this, I want to pan before I reach an aux/bus - for instance if you want to creat an object with panning information in it that you then rotate / pan.
When assigning a group to a VCA Track, Pro Tools could Auto rename the VCA Track to the name of the group that you assigned to it.
ie: assigning group named "Drums VCA" would change the name of the VCA to "Drums VCA"
