When making cuts to regions on an alternate playlist while playing back the main or alternate playlist, the audio drops out similar to how it sounds when adding an insert.
We should look into upgrading the way in which we currently can edit a file by drawing in a waveform, ny ideas are: -When Zooming in to waveform level, have a vertical scale in dB at least to see when it clipped, or how far are we from clipping -Have an option to zoom and switch to pencil tool automatically -Also removing certain things from a sound can be super hard when you can't actually see whats going on on the ...more »
I do a lot of audiobook post-production work. In some cases, I receive a PT file with timeline markers wherever there are problems that need to be fixed. Typically I do this work in "shuffle" mode... boy, it sure would be useful to be able to link the markers to the track I'm editing, so that if I have to chop out 90 seconds of extraneous crap, the following markers move to the left along with the audio. I'm aware I can ...more »
When partially selecting and clearing two overlapped clips and the first one contains a fade out (which is entirely covered by the selection), an unexpected result occurs.
The bug is occurring on Pro Tools 2018.1 and can be reproduced with 100% success. Please see the attached pdf for further details.
I am running it on Windows 10 version 1709.
When you hit command + opt + G and group a series of clips, it's currently to hard to distinguish that group short of the tiny little text at the top left, that many of us with high res monitors can barely see. I propose that when you group clips, that group is either colored differently or at the very least has a slightly different (darker or lighter shade) than the rest of the clips on that track. Example of use in ...more »
It would be efficient to have a way to choose mirrored playlist editing in the same fashion as mirrored Midi editing. Especially when performing cut time or add time commands. A simple checkbox would suffice. When moving sections of a song around this is a workflow killer. For example. If you decide to copy and past a chorus to double it or remove an instrumental section, you need to be able to have the playlists follow. ...more »
There is a shortcut for reset waveform zoom level crtl-alt-command-[
Maybe also a shortcut for zoom waveform to maximum crtl-alt-command-]
I would love to have an option to switch MIDI editor to DRUM EDIT MODE where there would be diamond or triangle markers for note start without showing its length. Would be also nice to have a possibility to switch from classic piano roll to MIDI note number mode, to set names for notes, load and save note names to file and display custom layers (e.g. show only named notes or show notes defined by user).
When I am editing vinyl clicks while zoomed into the wave form at the sample level it's time to select the pencil tool to draw out the click, and then "Chicklet" back out to overview the waveform to scrub to the next click and also switch to the selector tool to navigate to the next click and then zoom back in to the sample level again at which point again selecting the pencil tool.and then repeat on and on, click after ...more »
It would be great to have the ability to open a session, select one or several clips and/or markers, or anything else, copy them, close the session, open another one, and paste it. Would be useful in addition to the "import session data..." that only works with tracks.
To separate MIDI notes on the grid: 1. Set the Grid value. 2. Make an Edit selection or a marquee selection that includes the MIDI notes you want to separate. 3. Choose Edit > Separate > On Grid. 4. In the Pre-Separate Amount dialog, click OK. I've been using this feature a lot since discovering it hidden away in the edit menu, but I like to work quickly with keyboard shortcuts and I feel slowed down having to use the ...more »
