Currently it is not possible to import an instrument or retrieve a preset for a track without also importing its automation from the previous session. So every time you use any of the two features, you have to proceed to erase that automation after, track by track. I think that this behavior is not the correct way it should work, and it should be adjusted by default to NOT importing / saving the automation, but the plugings, ...more »
Zoom presets (the 1-5 keys on the alpha keyboard) are currently stored on a per-session basis. I find this a tremendous pain; having to manually reset the Zoom presets to my preferred layout in any sessions I receive for mixing is a huge time waster, and they're not included in the Import Session Data dialog. Please make this recall-able in the Import Session Data dialog, or allow over-riding of Zoom Presets in sessions ...more »
Bringing in OMF/AAF's all day would be way less tedious if I could import them they way I work with them. No volume automation. Only clip gain. You can currently import only with, or without volume automation.
The new Batch Renamer tool is quite handy but I still need to import clip names via excel or doc. Would also be neat to do this for tracks if needed.
Too many mix engineers receive sessions with missing audio files all because the non-pro users do not know that the simple preference "Automatically Copy Files on Import" is not, by default, checked on their system.
When Importing Video files to a session, Alt+Shft+Cmd+I adds a video to a session
Can we add another modifier to make it copy and import and put the video in the video files folder.
Import is not offered for AIFF: As well via DragDrop-to-Cliplist - as well as from Workspace
According to VLC (on Mac) the source-file is "PCM SL16 LE" (=Pulsecodemodulation signed 16-bit little-endian).
I can't believe worldwide popular AIFF-format is incompatible in year 2017 ?!?
The option to import audio to selection on the selected track.
The Freeze status of a track needs to be added to the parameter list in the Import Session Data Dialog box. As it is now, you get odd behavior when importing tracks that are frozen even if all media related parameters are unchecked.
For film and TV: If I send a session from a template to an editor (or several), who does some work and changes track names to something helpfully descriptive (Cars 1-4, Rain 1-8, etc.), I'd like to be able to match tracks back into my master session, and include their changed track names as well as the clips. As it currently works, matching tracks and importing gives you of course plenty of options, but updating the ...more »
I would sometimes have "Assertion Errors" when importing audio into Pro Tools from the Workspace Browser, starting in PT 11 and still happening in PT 12. It wouldn't always happen, and seemed to sometimes be fixed, then come back. This has been happening the last few years. Recently when using Pro Tools Field Recorder Workflow in Post Production, I suddenly had an assertion error(Attachment 01) crop up when trying to ...more »
In a nutshell: OMF's originating as 23.976 from Final Cut Pro 7 are seen in Pro Tools' Import Session Data window as 24 frame metadata. Importing a single OMF into a Pro Tools session that is set to 23.976 seems to work just fine. BUT! if the OMF comes in 2 contiguous parts and the Match Tracks feature is employed in the Import Session Data window in overlay mode, the second part of the timeline (the new material) does ...more »
