I think it would be great if we could organize our busses in specific folders that can be named: I use and update a mix I/O setup that currently contains several hundred busses, each for a specific job for a specific instrument (e.g. Bus Drums, Drum Effect 1 etc.). Changing the track view to a sends level (or mute and pan for that matter) is ridiculously involved considering how often this task is performed, especially when all 10 sends are being used on a track. As far as I can tell, Option-clicking on a send does nothing other than open that sends fader. So it would be nice to add some functionality to an Option-Click on a send. When using volume automation to attenuate harsh sounds, such as fret noise on guitars (see attached example image), it would be beneficial to have the option to render the automation to the audio offline, thus not having to bus the audio to a new track and record.
When you hit command + opt + G and group a series of clips, it's currently to hard to distinguish that group short of the tiny little text at the top left, that many of us with high res monitors can barely see. I propose that when you group clips, that group is either colored differently or at the very least has a slightly different (darker or lighter shade) than the rest of the clips on that track. Some of the most popular feature requests on here were originally posted in 2009. Things like track folders, which are available in virtually every other DAW, but even more needed in Pro Tools, where film mixers have several hundred tracks to grapple with. Working with video projects or productions with multiple versions, it's always bugging me how I have to create X amount of new sessions and re-import everything, including a plethora of audio tracks, fades, plugin settings etc. all of which will be duplicated on my local drive. In my standard session format, I like to have, for example, each kit piece at a 'Mini' size, so it's easier to navigate. Trouble is, whenever I import that to a different session, it makes them all whatever size is being used most recently there, meaning I have to resize all 12 tracks every time!
Would be great if the session data import screen had a checkbox option to retain origin track height.
Currently in playlist mode you have two options under the playlist name: "Solo" and "Up Arrow". When comping vocals it is very common to track a bunch of takes and make main vocals, double vocals, and quad vocals. Pro Tools seriously lags behind its competitors here. Here is a non-exhaustive list of improvements, if you have any more please add to comments. If I solo the 'Drum Aux' all tracks associated with that Aux should play, it is silly I have to solo all the tracks manually. The ability to show only audio tracks or show only VCAs or Aux etc, it would be nice if you could select a combination like Aux and VCA for example, and the option to always keep the master fader presnets.
This would be good for setting up Window Configurations that you could quickly switch between on busy mixes.

The majority of applications for Mac (and also some for Windows) support the two-finger pinch-to-zoom in/out gesture on touchpads, yet Pro Tools does not.
Cmd [ ] is great, but having this gesture-based functionality enabled would definitely make for faster workflow when moving around a session.
The two-finger drag works, so why not this?
Let us Custom plug-in map any parameter to "Any" Midi Controller (not just Avid apporaved ones) using the 'Right-click' button on our mouse? New Assignments would always overwrite Old Assignments Just right-click and just select controller of your choice, then may be 'save' my choice as MIDI Preset in some kind of drop down menu on the plugin, where you can bring up the settings again to overwrite the current settings... more »
