Latency when recording through aux to audio track

Routing from: One aux track with input from microphone Routing to: One audio track with input from said aux track Why on earth does this routing incur latency? Even in a clean session with no plug-ins, there is a 15ms delay (128 samples H/W buffer size). The idea is to print plug-ins (e.g., Slate Virtual Microphones or low latency Auto Tune) and not have to instantiate 50+ copies across a vocal dub/backing session. ...more »

adopt "abandon changes" from Cloud Collaboration into Pro Tools

it would be great to have "Abandon Changes" in Pro Tools without Cloud Collaboration. This is great if you have done some changes on a track (plugin settings pan vol auto etc) and you want to get back to where you started from without the need to "Revert to Saved..." - and this works on a track basis, not only the whole session, So you can make changes on track one, then track 2,3,4,... and then you can abandon changes ...more »

Softube "Console 1" - type display for Pro Tools (EQ/DYN curve display)

Pro Tools could have a 3rd window option - Edit, Mix and "Console". It would be great to have the transfer curves of the EQ/DYN always in view as a full window. As you focus a track, the information from the EQ/Dyn (Avid Channel Strip) would populate the graphs. With the release of PT2018 and the EQ View on each of the channels in the Mix window - this seems like an easy thing to do. It's also technically being done on ...more »

Playlist Features: Add Double / Quad Comp buttons

Currently in playlist mode you have two options under the playlist name: "Solo" and "Up Arrow". When comping vocals it is very common to track a bunch of takes and make main vocals, double vocals, and quad vocals. The same could be said for comping guitar tracks or anything that needs doubles or quads. If you look on the left, those two buttons leave enough real-estate for possibly 5 more buttons. The buttons I would ...more »

When the Low Latency Monitoring is engaged and send busses on tracks are bypassed, they still pass audio

If the Low Latency selected path is at the top of the the bus I/O Tab, when LLM is engaged all the send busses on tracks show to be bypassed, these still pass audio although look to be bypassed.

This is the case when one of the buses is mapped to an output (chan 7&8 on the HD I/O) at the top of the bus tabs list.

We have a work around for it by leaving this bus at the top of the bus tab list.

Timeline sensitive scribble strip

I.E., If a piano part changes to a guitar clip later on down the timeline, it would be great if the scribble strip reflected that name change. Especially when doing multiple songs or cues in one session. So one way to implement would be t o enter a channel name and check box click "at Position" or just don't don't check for normal channel naming.
