We have a serious problem with to much heat in our fascilities and the biggest heat generator is the computers. We wish we could put our computers to sleep during breaks. That would save a lot of studios from unwanted heat and it would save a lot of energi too.
Please fix the way the PT 11 engine handles plugins. It is very inefficient and produces "Out of CPU" DAW errors long before the CPU maximum is reached.
VI's such as Kontakt and PLAY struggle considerably within Pro Tools.
just installed 12.6.1 on MacOS El Capitan 10.11.6, upgraded from 12.5.2. Full Screen mode no longer works. I click the green button, and it just (vaguely) Maximizes the window, instead of entering Full Screen. This makes Pro Tools break the standard of MacOS since at least Mountain Lion, and is a severe hindrance to usability on small screens like a laptop. The standard for MacOS is that clicking the green button enters ...more »
We've all been there... A CPU error stops playback and then the CPU meter is peaking, rendering the session unusable until we find the problem plugin(s). Usually it's ONE plugin that is malfunctioning. BUT, to find that plugin can take dozens of minutes! Is it possible to automatically colour the likely culprit(s) RED after a CPU error? This would be such a time saver for so, so many of us. Of course, we'd prefer no ...more »
Every time when I play my Pro Tools project and while playing I try to add an instrument track, or an audio track, or an effect, or a send or change the cycle Pro Tools will pause for a moment. When you are producing a track that is so annoying and it takes you out of your creative flow. I know no other sequencer on the market that has this issue. And this can't be a CPU or a Ram issue because the competition clearly ...more »
Sometimes a terminal suddenly pops up.
As it looks, it caused by some bug in the interaction between OS and Avid apps.
Maybe it's the Application Manager that causes all this trouble?
I see that some users have the same issue:
I know it's not impacting everyone, but for me, going from 12.7.1 to 12.8.1 introduced a new crash which happens every time I try to quit the app: it just shows the generic 'Send to Avid' crash reporter. Apparently, the same happened for some others who tried 12.8.0 also. For me, it's completely tied to whether or not I have Guitar Rig 5.2.2 in my plugins folder or not, but there could well be other plugins related to ...more »
My Main Output is a 5.1 Output. When setting my Audition Path to that, it seems to 'downmix' to a mono output on Channel 3 (Centre) when previewing in any AudioSuite Plug Ins.
Workspace Auditioning is fine though & plays out of L&R. Surely that's the same Audition Path?
Ive tried trashing Prefs & still the same
64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate, Intel core i7-6700K CPU 4.00 GHz, 16 GB RAM, running ProTools 12.5.2 In collaboration tools, both the invite another user and artist chat buttons create a blank popup window that never populates (waited up to 20 minutes). No error message. I can close the window and carry on editing. None of the buttons in the track collaboration function appear to do anything at all, whether in the universal ...more »
Sometimes when I load a project containing an Avid Space (AAX 12.0.1 or 12.1.0) plugin I notice that the Wet control has mysteriously shifted to 0dB and the dry control to -infinity dB, no matter what the previous setting was.
Seemingly random, have not been able to replicate.
Serato Pitch'n'Time Pro crashes pro tools.
Sometimes it works as it should, other times it will crash Pro Tools on a certain region.
It is very frustrating.
I'm mainly looking for a support update for PT12.
I've just started my first score mix for an Atmos feature film, working in Atmos Bed 7.1.2 format, in PT 2018.3 (I assume it was the same for previous versions, though have not checked). I'm running a single HDX card. The issue: .7.0.2 and .Overhead subpaths don't work correctly on internal busses (but they do work on output busses). Highlight multiple files for renaming. Shift-Command-R to rename. Use A, B, C naming conventions. Notice that 1st file is named B, second is C, third is A.
See video. Please fix this. No longer possible to trust Avid's rename function for more than one file at a time.
Offline bouncing a stereo file in Pro Tools HD 12.4 and 12.5 (not tested with earlier versions) results reproducibly the size of bounced left channel to be same than the source channel of the bounce, but right bounced channel is a bit larger (reported by Finder). Same happens with 5.1 files - the size of bounced left channel is the same than the original, all the other five are a bit larger. Pro Tools sees the bounced ...more »
