For better region management i would like to see folders in the region list. It would be great if you could assign one or multiple tracks to a folder in the region list and all the recordings and edits of the track(s) end up in the designated folder in the region list. This folder could then also be created in the Audio Files folder for even better file management.
It would eliminate the awfully slow process of importing session data, copying plugins, deleting tracks, etc.
(Changed from "Channel Strip Presets" to avoid confusion with the Channel Strip plug-in.)
I would REALLY love a change in the markers. Please have multiple marker rulers in the edit window. I would also like to be able to set custom colors to certain markers. Also, in the marker list, I would love to be able to re-sort alphabetically and renumber sequentially after re-sorting.
Primarily what this would allow me to do is set ADR markers, foley markers, music markers, dialog markers, etc...
We could use the ability to solo a bus instead of having to select all the individual tracks in order to hear the mix. As you can see in the image below, in order to hear all the tracks routed to "Break Mix" I have to solo each one. It's not so bad when there are 2 tracks but with big sessions this gets complicated. As you can see in that image there are two blank spots next to "Mute" and "Solo." These could be use ...more »
All users claim for it for long time.
All another softwares have it.
All people does not understand why PT doesn't have it yet.
Shortcut for making two mono audio tracks into one stereo. Kind of the opposite of Split Stereo Track into 2 Mono Tracks.
Big mixes require good organization, it would be great to be able to have track folders (for example-for your 32 tracks of drums!)
to check mixes in mono.
A trim knob that works like the plugin placed before the channel plugin path would be nice. This would help in facilitating proper gain staging of tracks that are recorded too hot or too soft without using up a plugin slot.
I would like to have a smart, half-automated way for cleaning up sessions after a mix is done.
The function should allow me to remove unused playlists, consolidate all audio files, delete unused audio regions and put everything in a new folder that contains only the audio needed for the session.
A build-in plugin manager that would allow you to turn plugins on or off AND clearly specifies the correct versions of the installed plugins. After restarting Pro Tools your plugins would then be turned on or off according to the settings you made in the plugin manager. It would be fantastic if it could be done WITHOUT a restart of Pro Tools, BUT even if i do have to restart Pro Tools this would make such a difference ...more »
I could really use an in-session documentation feature. I always include a RTF file with a log of my hours that I worked and what I did. It would be nice if PT had a feature that would log my hours and allowed me to comment on this log and then print or export it. This would be a simple feature to program and would make documentation much easier to keep on top of.
This line of plugins with 8.0 is really pretty wonderful. I am so happy with em. But why not include a general use plugin for fast frequency analyzer with a nice graphic display to assist with more efficient eq adjustments.
I hate when I'm using the smart tool to create a crossfade and I get the "bounds" error message. It would be cool if when you clicked on the regions to start your crossfade pro tools would draw little dotted lines to show how far each region extended under the other. This would eliminate a lot of guessing. Also, a preference option could be available that when selected, only allows you to extend the crossfade out to ...more »
When in an automation view of a track. Tab to transient should change to tab to automation breakpoint.
