We adjust send levels in Pro Tools by mouse clicking on a bus, this loads a slim floating fader outside of the mix window. We then need to click and drag this floating fader to set the send volume level. Wouldn't it be great if we didn't need to open up the floating fader? Instead, we adjust the send level over the instance of the bus like a plug-in slider? This would save countless mouse clicks within a mix.
would be nice to be able to assign the main fader on the Protools dock to automate send levels or any type of automation
Let's paint the scenario : You've already and succesfully blended 2 tracks together (e.g. Bass DI at 0dB + Bass MIC at -4dB) everything seems to be perfect so you go further in your mix... Then you want to change the balance between these 2 bass tracks, here appears the trap ! each time you increase a fader, you must decrease the other one in the same range, because each modification on a fader changes the global volume... more »
On the mix window, meters are displayed to the right of the fader (i.e. after it), yet the default meters in PT are PRE-fader. It would be a lot clearer and more intuitive if these were shown the other way around, with any pre-fader meter placed just before its corresponding fader. To a pro, I'm sure this seems like a pointless difference, but I think it would help reduce confusion from newcomers in terms of how to... more »
The feature to lock the fader position or disable fader at all.
for example usefull:
- If you monitor through recording Stem-Tracks
- have post fader Auxes
- or have post fader Metering
When I am mixing and I have already adjusted the overall volume of an instrument, and start to automate, I usually do not move the fader beyond 0.3dB-0.5dB. I am all the time with the left hand pressing the command key to make these small movements in the fader, to the point that every so often I suffer from epicondylitis in the left arm derived from this problem. My TC6000 System has the ability to block a fader with... more »
It would be cool if you could spill playlists the same way that you spill VCA's on the S3. being able to comp this way would be a huge time saver.
