Encoder gearing and speed needs to be user adjustable. Right now it is either super slow or super fast with no middle ground. Makes it very hard to adjust plugins on the S3.

Adding an Automation Event List (similar to the MIDI Event List) would be a welcome feature to Pro Tools. To summarize: it would be the Automation counterpart to the MIDI Event List. Much like the MIDI counterpart, this event list would be a floating or docked window that would have a drop-down selector to choose the displayed track. It would list all automation breakpoints with three columns: location (time), parameter ...more »
Full iPad screen editing of any plugin. How it might work: * Click on plugin send with mouse within Pro Tools. * Instead of bringing up the selected plugin window within Pro Tools as it usually would, it simply highlights the send (perhaps red) and throws the plugin window directly onto your iPad screen, scaled to the iPads full size screen for real time touch editing. * Alongside/above the plugin graphics on the iPad, ...more »
Many modern DAWs create crossfades automatically when you drag a region over another one. This would be so much quicker and easier than the current method in Pro Tools.
We need the ability to relink unlinked files directly from the Edit window. There is no menu to open directly the relink window, the only way to open it is to find unlinked file in the workspace window and then to activate the relink function. It is long and boaring I want to relink missing files directly from the edit menu, by a function on the dropdown menu. Or i need an item in the window menu to open the link windows. ...more »
With HD Native Systems, you can only run 1 output pair as a low latency monitoring path. Almost any 3rd party interface will allow multiple low latency cue mixes, so it seems strange that Multiple LLM (Low Latency Monitoring) outputs for HD Native are unsupported. Please offer this, Avid!
Include a 'Relink and COPY to session audio files folder' as well as 'Relink and MOVE to session audio files folder' option into the missing audio files window. I know, file management should be nailed in the first place. However, I often receive session files from clients for mixing and I spend too much time sorting out somebody else's mess. These two options will make my life much easier. Thanks for voting this idea ...more »
Import photographs into protools sessions to make it easier to recall sessions that are using analog hardware. An auto import function would be great and the photos would probably live within the track comments. we need an app for this!
Users that had CPTK forced to HD license when avid discontinued it- should be paying the vanilla Yearly fee not HD for subscription, As did not have another option and also we don't have any HD or DSP cards, this is something we paid for along with Pro tools LE to use basic things like more tracks and automation modes and at the time it was an add on we paid 2k for and continued to upgrade the LE version at scale and ...more »
I save all the time during work so for me when closing a session I'd rather not be prompted to save if no changes were made since last save. That way I know nothing unintentional has occurred since I last saved.
Title says it all, it would be nice to have that, either an optional toggle button (like play or record modes) in the edit (or mix) window, or through right click on the solo button! Just a button for changing the solo mode (afl, pfl, sip) directly from the GUI. right click on it and you get a context menu with: pfl afl sip --- latch x-or or you can toggle through the modes with ctrl+click the same way it works with ...more »
With Antares and Waves no longer supporting AAX DSP there is no low-latency tuning plug-in out there for artist that used to track through Autotune. I think it might be worth the R&D to just make an AVID one, it's missing from the offered line-up pretty badly.
Since we have an account on Avid pages that list all of our products. Wondering if there shouldn't be an all in one download that would obviously download all of your avid product in one go, instead of having to go through all the plugin list to get the plugins from avid you have bought, etc.
Working in post, I find I very frequently have to use both types of crossfades. I have to frequently go into my preference to switch the default back and forth between Equal Power and Equal Gain, and no matter which it's set on, I have to manually change the fade type for many edits. It would be awesome to be able to just hold Shift or Option while creating a fade in order to create whichever type of fade isn't currently ...more »
