It would be great to have the ability to open a session, select one or several clips and/or markers, or anything else, copy them, close the session, open another one, and paste it. Would be useful in addition to the "import session data..." that only works with tracks.
There should be an option to simultaneously edit the main playlists AND alternate playlists together without having to open the tracks playtlist view and select all the lanes one by one. i.e: you decide to remove 8 bars from a song using the All group and shuffle mode. But many tracks do have alternate playlists if you mistakenly edit without selecting all and every alt playlist in every track, things can get complicated. ...more »
Example: Big session holding many tracks. Working in the edit window let me say on track number 48 (numbers only to show how many tracks instead of saying Git1, Piano2 etc). The track shown at the top of the edit window is for example number 46. Now when switching to the mix window, it would be a fantastic feature having track number 46 (always the track at the top of the edit window) automatically on the far left ...more »
I do a lot of audiobook post-production work. In some cases, I receive a PT file with timeline markers wherever there are problems that need to be fixed. Typically I do this work in "shuffle" mode... boy, it sure would be useful to be able to link the markers to the track I'm editing, so that if I have to chop out 90 seconds of extraneous crap, the following markers move to the left along with the audio. I'm aware I can ...more »
When editing i often use Shuffle Mode of course.Id love to see a freature that also Moves the Markers after the Edit Point. When inserting a Part all following Marker shift to the right and vice versa when cutting out all following Markers shift to the left like the following Clips.
I would call it "Link Marker Position to Shuffle Edit"
Have a feature in the Memory location window to put a clip separation everywhere there is a memory location marker for a highlighted track.
For those of us who edit LOTS of voiceovers, I will make separations at all the memory locations (bad parts in the script) so that when I'm editing....I don't move all the audio further down stream, causing it to be off it's marker.
I would love to have an option to switch MIDI editor to DRUM EDIT MODE where there would be diamond or triangle markers for note start without showing its length. Would be also nice to have a possibility to switch from classic piano roll to MIDI note number mode, to set names for notes, load and save note names to file and display custom layers (e.g. show only named notes or show notes defined by user).
Every time when I play my Pro Tools project and while playing I try to add an instrument track, or an audio track, or an effect, or a send or change the cycle Pro Tools will pause for a moment. When you are producing a track that is so annoying and it takes you out of your creative flow. I know no other sequencer on the market that has this issue. And this can't be a CPU or a Ram issue because the competition clearly ...more »
Please update Pro Tools to include an adjustable brightness or a darker window option similar to the new Venue 5.0 software.
It'd be much easier on the eyes with a darker window option.
Love the updated Fade Window in Pro Tools 12. My only issue is I work in various timecode frame rates so trying to cut sound effects in millisecond resolution isn't convenient. How many milliseconds in duration is a frame at 29.97, 23.976 or 25 frames? I'd love the option to have this window lock itself to the session timecode resolution and allow quick and easy quarter frame, half frame, 1 frame and multiple frame input ...more »
When you hit command + opt + G and group a series of clips, it's currently to hard to distinguish that group short of the tiny little text at the top left, that many of us with high res monitors can barely see. I propose that when you group clips, that group is either colored differently or at the very least has a slightly different (darker or lighter shade) than the rest of the clips on that track. Example of use in ...more »
To separate MIDI notes on the grid: 1. Set the Grid value. 2. Make an Edit selection or a marquee selection that includes the MIDI notes you want to separate. 3. Choose Edit > Separate > On Grid. 4. In the Pre-Separate Amount dialog, click OK. I've been using this feature a lot since discovering it hidden away in the edit menu, but I like to work quickly with keyboard shortcuts and I feel slowed down having to use the ...more »
