Allow drag and drop of clips into VI's from timeline or workspace

Prior to AAX it was possible to find samples in workspace, then drag and drop them directly into a sampler such as Structure, Kontakt, Battery, Maschine etc. With the introduction of AAX the drag and drop functionality was removed from the AAX format. Please reinstate it! It is very inconvenient and infuriating to have to find a sample in workspace or timeline, then work out the audio path, memorise it, and go into ...more »

Add an Automation Event List

Adding an Automation Event List (similar to the MIDI Event List) would be a welcome feature to Pro Tools. To summarize: it would be the Automation counterpart to the MIDI Event List. Much like the MIDI counterpart, this event list would be a floating or docked window that would have a drop-down selector to choose the displayed track. It would list all automation breakpoints with three columns: location (time), parameter ...more »

relink files from the edit window

We need the ability to relink unlinked files directly from the Edit window. There is no menu to open directly the relink window, the only way to open it is to find unlinked file in the workspace window and then to activate the relink function. It is long and boaring I want to relink missing files directly from the edit menu, by a function on the dropdown menu. Or i need an item in the window menu to open the link windows. ...more »

Clip Names not visible

When a clip's start is beyond the left of screen of the display, the name of it cannot be identified without scrolling out or alt tabbing or zooming out or double clicking. It would help that the partially showing clip's name were always shown in the clip lane at the left window until it is entirely off screen.

relink AND MOVE/COPY missing audio files

Include a 'Relink and COPY to session audio files folder' as well as 'Relink and MOVE to session audio files folder' option into the missing audio files window. I know, file management should be nailed in the first place. However, I often receive session files from clients for mixing and I spend too much time sorting out somebody else's mess. These two options will make my life much easier. Thanks for voting this idea ...more »

Users that had CPTK forced to HD license should be paying the vanilla Yearly fee, not the HD fee for subscription,

Users that had CPTK forced to HD license when avid discontinued it- should be paying the vanilla Yearly fee not HD for subscription, As did not have another option and also we don't have any HD or DSP cards, this is something we paid for along with Pro tools LE to use basic things like more tracks and automation modes and at the time it was an add on we paid 2k for and continued to upgrade the LE version at scale and ...more »

Template Management

It would be great to be able to delete or rename and manage templates from inside of ProTools. Studios that have many users can get overloaded with templates from different people and projects. Managing these from within ProTools just seems to make sense, we shouldn't need to leave the environment to do this type of management .

Whichever screen mouse is hovering over, shortcuts automatically affect.

Users who have multiple screens set up and frequently go back and forth between the Edit and Midi editor will know the frustration of hovering over one window with the mouse, using a zoom (or other) shortcut, and having the previously selected window zoom in or out. I'd love to see a feature where the shortcuts (like zoom in/out) affect the screen that the mouse is currently hovering over without having to click somewhere ...more »
