It would be great to have the ability to open a session, select one or several clips and/or markers, or anything else, copy them, close the session, open another one, and paste it. Would be useful in addition to the "import session data..." that only works with tracks.
How about the ability to preview a midi file in workspace.
It doesn't have to be elaborate, you can do it using the OS X finder so I imagine it's a simple quicktime implementation.
For Pro Tools to be a real player in Music Production features like this just have to be implemented.
I would like to have another smart-tool-mode without the trim tool. I almost never use the trim tool doing all editing with keyboard shortcuts (a and s for clip edges), but I constantly have to use selecting und grabbing tool. Getting your cursor at the beginning or end of a clip can somertimes be very fiddly, while the smart tool changes to the trim tool whenever you come close to the edge of a clip.
If you wanted to go back to a processed clip at a later stage and couldn't remember how exactly you processed it you could right click on the clip and there would be an 'Audiosuite Memory' option. Another menu would open from this listing all Audiosuite plugins used on the clip then for each one 'copy processed... more »
IdeaScale is one of the best parts of Avid! It's a terrible idea to let it go!!!
PT Ultimate jumbles saved general properties (such as Track Show/Hide, Track Heights, Window Config's, etc) in memory location markers when you change markers or on closing/reopening the session. A full preference dump has not fixed the issue.
S3 layouts maintain correct tracks when locked down so it must be the PT Ultimate.
Highly frustrating when working with big sessions!
Maybe it is just me, but I am having a hard time to sometimes see the grid marks in Pro Tools.
To some degree it is usually a bit to bright to see them.
When inserting the TC Electronic LM2 (latest version), Pro Tools crashes. It just vanishes without any error message.
On an empty session with a single stereo aux passing through audio to my monitors - 38.4% CPU usage with 74 threads sitting idle doing nothing.
48/24 session @ 128 samples
Logic on the hand, 300 tracks up with about 70 VI's sitting idle - same specs is using 12% / 161 threads sitting idle.
What exactly is PT doing that is needing that much juice?

Would like to keep my verbs, masters, vca's locked in one mode while I constantly switch from Trim and Latch on source faders
I can’t believe I haven’t asked for this before. A lot of the time I just want to import tracks from one session into another. The track James tend to match because I work with templates. Most of the time I want to just select a bunch of tracks and hit Match Tracks only on those tracks. I can’t seem to do this.
Please add an indication of which tracks, from the source session, are hidden and/or inactive. Color coding or font changes (italics, "@" prefix, bold for non-hidden vs non-bold for hidden tracks, etc.) could be used to differentiate these tracks.
