It would be awesome if we had the option to set a customizable default send level.
Right now we just have the option to default to unity or -INF but it would be super useful to have the option to input your own default level.
Personally I start most of my reverb sends at -10 so it would save me tons of time to just have every send default to -10 so I can either just leave it or adjust it slightly from there.
These two buttons are frequently mis triggered as they are both next to commonly used keys on the keyboard. I can't tell you how many times I've accidentally gone out of punch mode because my fat finger bumps 6 when hitting 3 to start recording and on the next pass when I try to punch I completely miss recording and have to start the take over again. The "N" key is close to commonly used "B" and of course the spacebar ...more »
Recently I've noticed that Match Tracks in the Import Session Data window is not functioning at all with some tracks. I've been importing track settings from a template that has identical track names and Match Tracks won't match them. I've attached 2 screenshots, one is what happens when I click Match Tracks and the 2nd is a screenshot of the first 5 tracks manually matched, which you can see are completely identical. ...more »
First off, I would really like it if Avid would bring back the checkbox in the IO window to always use the IO saved with the session as I have many different IO setups that I use for each project that I work with. As for the issue I'm now facing due to the new system of having to "Restore from Session" in the IO window every time I switch between project, I've noticed that Pro Tools 2018.1.0 will not recognize if an ...more »
I do a fair amount of mixing for Video Game scores in Quad and often times they also would like an LFE channel in addition to Quad. It would be awesome if you guys could add a 4.1 bus as a feature. I would think it would be a pretty simple thing to build, just a Quad bus plus the LFE send. At the moment I print to a Quad stem plus a separate mono LFE so I have to make extra groups for each stem and doing bus processing ...more »
All of the sudden, with PT10, removing clips from a session takes ages. I used to be able to select all clips, hit remove, and BAM, they were all gone. Now it seems to chew on simply removing each and every clip and it sometimes takes several minutes to do what used to take a few seconds. What changed???
Everybody in scoring land runs a big bar counter during sessions and mixes so everybody can follow along with where we are in the score. Currently I need to push half the window off the edge of the screen so the annoyingly fast ticks counter isn't pissing everybody off. The problem is that every time I open a saved session, the bar counter is either a different size or it's moved in position, which gets very cumbersome ...more »
Quite frequently, when I open a session that I literally had created an hour or 2 before, on the very same rig with the very same hard drives, PT 10 starts to calculate all the overviews all over again. This also changes the date modified of all those WAV files, which causes my sync software to recopy tons of audio that is already backed up. The worse problem is of course that it slows down the whole rig while it's ...more »
