I have used elastic audio for tuning. It needs more control.
1, add a visual analysis of the notes pitch movement.
2. add a tool for raining in pitch movement like vibrato.
3. Give up the new programming and integrate melodyne's engine and tools.
I was the Pro Tools "expert" at a DAW competition at Berklee College of music earlier in January 2018. Many features had me winning over Logic, Ableton and Garage band. One that made Pro Tools look inept was what happened when importing an elaborate MIDI file. This was one that had a decent mock up 30+ tracks of the score from Raiders of the Lost Ark. All the other DAW's read the midi track names on import. PT12.8.3 did ...more »
Make a special group feature that properly groups multiple playlists by name AFTER you record. Too many of my pro tools students learning to group are screwed when trying to assign groups after they have recorded. Why not add a group by matching playlist name..... So all playlists they end in .03 or .comp or any matching suffix get grouped?
For many versions the crucial feature of delay compensation has been erratic and persistantly not working. Even when used with minor amounts plugins or relatively few tracks the results are not alligning our tracks. Please make this a priority. It is humiliating when using a top shelf HDX system and this feature isn't rock solid.
Make the comments window into the track sheet - Metadata resource we all need for the future. Going digital meant our data would stay with the songs. Make the comments window have three views. One for small crucial always visible info. A second for a moderate amount and third for All info. Player, instrument, composer, ascap info, mic, polar pattern, preamp and setting, compressor and setting, picture. Engineer, studio, ...more »
When using a Sync HD (either color) or older Sync IO with pro tools 10 or 11 (all versions) when you close a session but keep pt on the Sync units default to a partial sample rate. For instance 88.2 goes to 71 and 44.1 goes to 39. As you can imagine, all interfaces clocked to that go nuts and sometimes emit clocking noise or try to resolve the weird incoming clock-rates. Pro tools already is temperamental about changing ...more »
Every freaking time i bounce a rough mix from a large recording session Pro Tools says turn off tracks set to input. This feature would recognize the talkback as a special type of track and automatically mute the input during bounces.
You could do this in two ways one is individual mode when the mix doesn't matter yet and one in group mode when it does and the the most over'ed track decides what value to bring all tracks down by... then you dialog box us the questions if that amount is OK. Letting us know where in the gain chain the over is happening would be bad either.
This one freeze feature would fix your tdm and le DDL limitations. It would also allow faster than real time bounces because if you froze most of the tracks then the processing to do a mix bounce could be done in the back ground.
Just add a variation in the import session data so you import the settings( pan, vol, mutes, sends) at the top of the session and not all the automation through out the song or songs. If I want to use the same plugs in from another song on the same studio session but not import changes in volume or send level changes I'm stuck importing the automation on all the tracks and having to go looking for fader moves on lots ...more »
How many times have you wanted to grab a selection and goose or lessen the gain of a piece of audio permanently. The hoops to select, go find the gain plug in then set a level is tedious. Have a key command that goes up a db and more if you hit twice. Pull down gain by a db if you option click it. amounts could be specified in the prefernces.
