Allow VCA mode as one of the options for the top row. VCA's would be displayed on the top row with the encoders acting as volume controls, SEL acting as solo and IN acting as mute. Pressing the encoders would spill.
This would allow you to have VCA groups at all times while mixing on the faders below. Too cool.
Say that you're working on some tracks on the S3. You want to jump to your VCA layout or any other layout for that matter, make some quick adjustments for balance, maybe mute/solo a couple of things, It would be great to be able to hop back to where you were. As it stands, you have to go searching for the track that you were focused on again. This would be similar to 'restore last selection' in the edit window. Work ...more »
it would be helpful to have a eucon preference to display mix only or edit only for group assign. There is currently no way in PT to change group ID letters and the S3 lays out the groups alphabetically, by group ID. Unless you are extremely organized and diligent with your group management, you end up with a fairly unorganized looking group list when you spill them out on the OLEDs. In PT, I manage my groups by keeping ...more »
It would be great to have the ability to add/remove tracks from VCA groups from the Channel control menu.
You would be able to add or remove selected tracks to/from VCA's on the fly.
when you increase track size in the edit window, the focused tracks scroll off screen. It would be preferrable for the tracks to stay centered during zooming.
See attached videos.
It would be efficient to have a way to choose mirrored playlist editing in the same fashion as mirrored Midi editing. Especially when performing cut time or add time commands. A simple checkbox would suffice. When moving sections of a song around this is a workflow killer. For example. If you decide to copy and past a chorus to double it or remove an instrumental section, you need to be able to have the playlists follow. ...more »
It would be great if you could hide members of a group but still have them follow group edits. For example. Let's say that you recorded a string section with spot mics on each instrument plus room mics and a deca tree. Then you did three passes to create a full orchestra sound. Adds up quick! . Being able to hide most of the members of the group would make for much cleaner editing. This could be a preference that could ...more »
It would be cool if you could spill playlists the same way that you spill VCA's on the S3. being able to comp this way would be a huge time saver.
It would be great to be able to re-assign the select button on the S3 via Eucontrol prefs. For those using the VCA spill workflow, this would be killer. I know that a lot of users find that having the select button in between the faders can be a bit tight. How about being able to assign it to a touch or press of the top or middle row knobs via a eucontrol preference. It could also work to use a keyboard modifier(s) in ...more »
With the artist mix series of controllers, when you scroll into view on the mix or edit window of ProTools (either by right clicking on track name and selecting or by holding down SHIFT/CONTROL and clicking) the controller follows the selection and puts the track on the far left. This is not the behaviour on the S3. It would be great if it was.
It would be pretty great to be able to spill memory locations to either the top or bottom row of OLEDS.
Using them as straight up Verse/chorus etc. markers or for recalling window configs etc would be extremely powerful.
There is an input on the back of the S3 for a mouse but it doesn't integrate with the S3 in a useful fashion within ProTools. It would be amazing to be able to bank around on the S3 with an attached mouse scrollwheel or even better, imagine being able to use a trackpad (apple magic trackpad) and use swiping scroll gestures to bank. It would be like scooting your chair down the console!
