Avid has without a doubt the industry standard WORST core audio drivers. Please improve upon this poor excuse of a driver to support OS X features like Quick Look, Web browsers, QUICKTIME and all the other normal everyday things a computer user in 2014 does. There are $100 interfaces with better Core Audio drivers than my HD Native rig. SMH
HDX, HD Native are great but it's time for Avid to bring I/O's into the future AKA Thunderbolt. Make an I/O with the HDX or Native card INSIDE of the interface. This is the future (look at Apollo). Everything is in your interface and you just plugin the Thunderbolt cable and make music. I would imagine such integration would allow for even lower levels of latency. Although great products, the state of Apples ...more »
These are extremely useful in the Edit Window for moving through large sessions. Would be just as useful for the mix window.
This is basically the ability to lock the height of a specific track or group of tracks so that when you do a universal track height zoom those tracks aren't affected.
For example, you zoom out to see and overview of your session but the FX returns & vocals stay a certain height.
This would be an INCREDIBLE way to keep track of what you're working on at the time. Damn thats good!
You can do it with waveforms, why not make it consistant elsewhere? This is a great idea.
For crying out loud.
It's that simple.
TRS Mirrors Analog Right Now
Why on earth is there not the option to mirror to digital? Wouldn't that be more useful for a piece like the Omni which is purposely crippled to 8 outs max?
I know you guys want to make us buy up but shame on you for limiting the Omni like this.
Do you people not use the products you create? My gosh, it's mind blowing the decisions Avid makes sometimes.
The Pro Tools workspace is one of the most pathetic underdeveloped file browsing systems on any OS X program, DAW or otherwise. Please consider improvements such as this one so we can navigate our massive sample libraries with a true workflow. Clicking folder after folder, opening new windows unnecessarily is just bad programming.
Currently we can't automate elastic pitch. If you want to do a lot of pitch changes you have to cut up a bunch of regions and change them one by one. I would be very useful if elastic pitch had a built in lane like clip gain.
It could be called "Clip Pitch" and you could do all sorts of creative pitch manipulations or simply correct a vocal line, you name it. Would be a great feature.
Of all DAWs the industry standard has the WORST file browsing system. 1. Make it so that up, down AND left and right arrows can be used to open, close and navigate folders. 2. Give us sync launching options. For example, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 so that we can launch sounds in a musical and useful way. Allow Re-triggering with the right arrow key when on a sound (this way you can PLAY samples while the music is going) 3. Give ...more »
Why keep limiting features that aren't hardware dependent? Why cripple us on purpose? It's not cool guys. I sold my HD system because of stuff like this and I'm holding out on my PT 9 upgrade because it's just flat out disrespectful that Avid would continue these type of practices after all the change talk last year.
Pro Tools comes with a bunch of loops, Transfuser content, Structure content, presets etc and it's all over the place. If you've done anything custom in PT it's not very easy to backup. How about consolidating everything into one easy to find and use folder called the "Pro Tools Library." This folder would be integrated to the workspace and could be our hub for everything pro tools. Going on a gig for a week and need ...more »
